He was great as a heel. I totally despised him as a character. Reality he was probably a wonderful person in real life. But he was so good at selling it you couldn’t stand his wrestling persona. He was like the obnoxious sports star in your youth.

Philly LOVED the Horsemen! When we went, dressed in suits for wrestling to root for the Horsemen, we always had a lot of people with us, just as we had a lot of people against us. It was ALWAYS fun.

back in the mid to late 80s i was a huge fan of the 4 horsemen. i went to a few matches live and remember getting iced thrown at me for cheering them. even so ... tully was the one i HATED. he was the perfect heel. gotta admire and respect him.

That would've rocked. Gino was made to be a Horsemen and they could've turned him face later. Gino gets bigger than the Horsemen and they jump him and fire him. Gino turns face and tags with Magnum against double-A and Tully. or maybe he demands a shot at Flair's belt.

The "Tully strut" was one of my favorite things in wrestling back in the day. The sheer taunting nature of it was hilarious. I usually hate that type of behavior in real life, but in wrestling, it was perfect, especially if you were a Horseman.

I was theee perfect age when this all went down.. I dunno what years it was. but somewhere between 1983-1988. so I was 11-16 years old....good times. **I remember watching GoldenGirls from 9-10pm on Saturday nights then WCW at 10-11 when Tully Was TV Champion/Four Hoursmen,,,, Then my Favorite was 11-12midnight Florida Wrestling with Kerry Von Erich,CHris Adams and I forget the rest. But I loooved the Florida version of WCW.. *The WWF was on fire. I bet I still have those "Pro Wrestling Illustrated" magazines from 1982-1987 when I collected em. proabably in my moms attic in a box with Thrasher Skate magazines..lol Thank You Tully Blanchard...

Blanchard said it was cold when he started in Kansas City in December of 1983. He's right. It was 20F below with 70 below wind chills in Dec 83 in KC.

He and Arn had such great chemistry together as a tag team. IMO they were the driving force behind that group because they could put on great matches. If Vince were smart, he would bring Tully in part of the creative team to work with the newer talent.

Don't be sorry for stating a fact. Without Tully the Horsemen did indeed suck. With the exception of Pillman, but Tully made the Horsemen go without a doubt. Tully Blanchard is Awesome. He was the blasting cap of the Horsemen. 1985- 88 don't happen for the 4 Horsemen without Tully!

People appreciate how good and important to the success of the four horseman Tully was . At the time I couldn't understand him but after the Magnum TA matches he won me over . Had Magnum ever won the NWA title I would have rathered seeing Tully chasing the champ than Flair .

Wasn't a Tully fan growing up but looking back now at his promos and his in work matches with AA he is so underrated. Look up his match against Dan Spivey. Tully held his own and never backed down in almost a semi shoot . These guys will never be duplicated by todays bunch. Just not the same.
