Hi! Welcome to Tulsa! I moved here from Los Angeles 14 years ago for my husband’s job. It was a complete culture shock but I quickly acclimated and will say that I am very happy here. We were able to actually afford a quality house in a nice neighborhood and raise our family. I think you will find your way and enjoy your new surroundings. 😊

That’s so encouraging! Glad your family is having a great experience, and I’m feeling like Tulsa is one of the few cities where I’m not priced out of the housing market already! ❤️ Fx this will be my permanent home!

Love this video series and your cheerful, joyful attitude. You are bang on with the weather conversation and niceness stories. lol. And your say it without saying it ability -> you have skills! :) The Goodwill metaphor, the poly comment. :p :D Bank of Oklahoma is under BOK Financial and has banks and financial/investment businesses in AR, TX, CO, NM, KS, MO, AZ, WI, CT, IN, NE (maybe other places) bc they operate Transfund, Cavanal Hill, etc. BancFirst is ONLY in Oklahoma. Arvest is OK, KS, MO, and AR. BoA and Chase are in Tulsa. I know what you mean about shopping, I just order things online like you said. Yep. Tulsa is a big town or a small city, it has missed a lot of opportunities for growth and even brutally and wrongly stamped it out in the past. But you and others are here bc of this remote program, so yay! You are making it better. :)

BBQ Bologna is a thing. The best place used to be Knotty Pine but they moved to 15th/Sheridan as Knotty Pig. Not the same unfortunately but they do still have it on the menu. If you ever have it done right, you will know what the fuss is about...if anybody knows someplace currently doing it well, I would love to know. They did it with big slabs of bologna that was smoked. I know it sound like you'd get incapacitated just being in the room with it, but believe me, that stuff is amazing

So, I've never thought about the toaster issue. I've never driven to okc for anything. I live downtown and the furthest I've down is broken arrow or south Tulsa for something (Tulsa native). Also, something to try with that you may or may not be into...cycling. There's a nice cycle studio that's black owned off greenwood called The Bluprint Studio. I know the owner she's also a beautician and very nice. I'm out of shape and haven't been in forever😂. But it's a hip spot.

Did you go to the grocery store for a toaster? If so, there may be 1 or 2 styles. If you went anywhere here in Tulsa for household goods though, you would have so many to choose from that you may need a pros and cons list to decide which one to get.

Bank of Oklahoma is in 8 states at least, including Texas. It may be under a subsidiary name though. I work here in Tulsa remotely for the biggest bank in the country, one of the largest in the entire world. Ha, in fact, we even run certain programs for many of those banks you mentioned like WF, CapOne, FIS, USAA, etc. I used to work for Bank of America here and at one time floated around to any of Tulsa's 23 branches that we had at that time. It has been a long time and they have consolidated branches, but still has a huge presence here. Most banks now are doing a lot more online business and able to consolidated branches. Banking is changing for sure, and we are likely to see a lot for consolidation over the next few years, especially with AI becoming a thing.

Ok, sti's is likely more from the drug community. Maybe not, but really, people that care more about their bodies are not out giving it out like candy. So it may not be just a druggy thing, but it cannot be something where people really care a much about spirit, mind and body.
