What do you think about the Saragosa 8000 for popping tuna? I intend to use it for live lining bunker for jumbo stripersin the ocean but thought maybe, just maybe, it could also be used for tuna. Really interested in your thoughts.

If the tuna you are going for are mostly under 100lbs, the 8000 should be fine, since you are also going for stripers. If you are wanting to target tuna that are much larger, we recommend using a size 14000. Tight lines!

Solid info, man. I just got an Ocea Plugger 8'2, but I also want a Grappler C in a smaller line for some lighter applications.

Hello captain, what length do you recommend for a spinning rod for tuna fishing?
@Fishermenssource10 ай бұрын
A nice 7' 6", medium power, fast action, 50-100lb line rating, 3-6 Oz lure rating. Would be a solid choice!

Hello Captain, what reel size would You recommend for shore jigging at 5-20m depth ? I am between the 6000-8000 size TP SW and the weight difference is around 50%. I guess in the area I would like to fish would be mostly 2-10kg Amberjacks and Groupers. And rarely 20-30kg Amberjacks or Tuna. With 300m PE 3 I would be able to fight and win with a 6000 model against big fish up to 20-30kg?

Great question! If you're fishing in an area where there is room for the fish to run, you can get away with a 6000 size. If you're fishing in an area where there are rocks, reefs, or any structure; you'd want to go with the 8000. All the best!

Can u explain gt popping rod vs tuna popping rod
@Fishermenssource Жыл бұрын
GT lures require larger sizes, and a stiffer rod works better with these poppers. GT fights are shorter (10-15 minutes), allowing for more effort. Tuna fights last longer, benefiting from a softer rod. Stiffer rods keep GTs away from structures, while softer ones are fine for tunas.

@@Fishermenssource Do you think the Jigging world luminous XHeavy would be a good choice to target both tunas and GTs? Thinking of getting it paired with a penn battle 2 8000

What about penn battle 3?
@FishermenssourceАй бұрын
Technically you could get away with using a penn battle 3 for 30lb - 50lb tuna. Any Tuna larger than that, 60lb+, will definitely be more of a challenge for the reel.

@Fishermenssource8 ай бұрын
@@ΒασίληςΚορκόντζελος This rod if not recommened for fast jigging, you'd really want something in the 6' realm. You can definitely use a Shimano Twin Power with it.

Overall the shorter the rod, the easier it will be to catch a fish. It will however, be difficult to properly work a popper, if you are throwing a popper. Thanks for the questions!

Thanks for your comment! That was a Centaur Chiron Popping Rod, 7' 11". We currently are out of stock of that exact one, but we do have other Centaur Chirons for popping.
