Used frequent flyer miles to Rhode Island to pickup my Tundra TRD Pro....and drove back to Indiana. The deal was worth it and tired of waiting locally for allocation. Like the navigation as I depended on it heavily for 14 hour drive through 7 states getting home. But, voice prompts are only ok even with training and took a while to get POIs along route, instead of nearby...sometimes behind me. Honestly, probably like the Garmin better, built in is handy having it in the dash. Eventually will have to update maps and wish there were more choices for the small screen by speedometer....mph or fuel used would be nice. Love the TRD pro, though, and well worth it. Keep up the great videos. Helped me decide on this truck. It's a 2017 and with all the driviing have already put 2k on the clock in 3 weeks and love it!

+Leland Franklin the fact that you flew to another state and drove it home puts you near the top in my book lol. Thats one of my bucket list things right there! Im glad my videos could help. Nothing makes me happier to hear I assisted someone with a Tundra or Tundra related purchase.

I went to my local dealership and they told me the closest TRD Pro cab config was 2000 miles away. Congrats on your new truck!

My local dealer was great, but finally turned to cars.com. The Rhode Island folks were running a grand opening end of year special... The shipping was like 1,000, so using free air miles and 79.95 for a hotel it worked great...also able to visit sister in Ohio on way home. Good luck and WELL worth the wait!!

I don't see a problem with the Entune system. I had it on a loaner car when my Tacoma was getting the frame replaced. Personally, I like it because it's easy to use and pretty responsive.
@TundraDude348 жыл бұрын
+PookieMan80 yea I really like it. Im sure there are better systems out there but entune is just fine.
@RobMotive8 жыл бұрын
Dude! That system has more than enough options. I think the issue is presentation (appearance). Even though it has everything, it looks "dated" to me. The screen just doesn't look like it's seamlessly integrated into the dash (if that makes sense?). I'm going to put up a vid of the Rebel's system and you can tell me what you think. Nice video!😎

How you got those apps in your radio? I know you said you downloaded them. Maybe show a how to video.
@TundraDude348 жыл бұрын
+Julio Nazario if you have an apple phone, go to app store and search toyota entune. Once you download that, create an account and connect to your car. You may need your vin. Its all thru bluetooth
@julionazario72288 жыл бұрын
TundraDude34 I tried doing that and now his is what I got: The VIN you have entered is invalid. Please check to ensure you have typed your VIN correctly and the vehicle you are trying to register is Entune-capable. I have a 2016 Toyota Tundra SR5 Crew Max with TRD Package basic radio without the JBL.
@TundraDude348 жыл бұрын
+Julio Nazario hmm, it should work at that trim level 🤔. You have the SR5 upgrade package correct? (Floor mounted shifter, center console, etc)
@julionazario72288 жыл бұрын
TundraDude34 Yes, is still giving me the same message. I'll have to call Toyota and see. Is there any other way you might know? Thanks for your quick response.
@TundraDude348 жыл бұрын
+Julio Nazario no problem whatsoever. I think your best bet is to call and let them figure it out. You should be entune capable. My 2014 SR5 TRD was.

I like it.. simple stupid. I like options so having the ability to hook apple or android would be nice. I use the navigation mostly as a backup when I am driving somewhere. I have a general idea how to get there it just helps me along. You have to get the tundradude logo on the boot up screen.

I just purchased a new 2017 Tundra Limited. The Navigation system has already proved to be a disappointment. I have a left turn near my house onto the main street. I have been making that turn for the last 20 years. There is even a left turn signal at this intersection. When I put in a destination that should obviously take me to/through that left turn, all 3 routes presented take convoluted routes to *avoid* the left turn at that intersection. I will have a difficult time trusting this navigation system to lead me on unfamiliar roads when it can barely get me out of the neighborhood correctly. I guess it's back to using Google Maps on the iPhone/IPad. :(
@TundraDude347 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that dude. Make sure its they updated the software

The Entune S/W is up to date. The map version is 05-36-51 2016-05-01, so it looks like the map may be a year old. I have read that map updates cost over $200, which is ridiculous this day and age, when I can get continuous map updates with Google Maps or Apple Maps for free.

Toyota has I think 2 or 3 different radios on my system It didn't come with the entune I have to use scout and it sucks bad I would rather pull a paper map out and drive by it than use scout, I have the Xp edition tundra with the premium package not sure if that matters but I would rather have the entune on mine

Good video, but it is really sad that Toyota any applies the Entune system to certain models. I have the CrewMax SR5 TRD and after spending $40k+ you don't have the same interface that you show in the video. Side note , I really wish the center tach display was able to show vehicle speed. The 4runner does!!! Thanks again for all the great content.
@TundraDude348 жыл бұрын
+Brenden Ourth the center screen should have ALOT more! Speed, individual tire psi, lifetime mpg just to name a few. I also think you shouldnt have to download entune app, it should just be there at this price point

Never heard brake fluid called brake oil before. haha
@TundraDude348 жыл бұрын
+Mike Dubiansky as i read it, I thought the same exact thing lol
@mdub6038 жыл бұрын
I guess it makes sense as brake fluid is essentially hydraulic oil. Could also just be something getting lost in translation (I know the Tundra is made here but the radio was likely at least designed in Japan). At work I've had to go through manuals and other technical docs we get from Germany. They're already translated to English but sometimes the translations are a bit wonky and that's what this is. I also read somewhere that the high beam switch in the first Hondas imported to the US was referred to as a "light hooter". Figure that out. haha. Does Toyota lock out functions when the truck is in motion?
@TundraDude348 жыл бұрын
+Mike Dubiansky yes they do. For instance, you cant set nav when the truck is moving.
