I have a 2013 LML long bed crew cab 4x4 tuned by some up north boys (don't like naming tuners these days, seems pretty risky) mishimoto intercooler, WCFAB high flow intake bundle, PPE up pipes and manifolds, RDS 63.5 turbo, exergy sportsman CP3 conversion, fleece performance in-tank lift pump and a fluidampr just for good measure. I typically ride around on sport economy and hammer this bad boy like a cheap hooker. Although I'm not a big burnout guy and I don't do doughnuts either. It's got 135k on the motor and seems like she's doing okay. Just gauging how long it's gonna be before I need to locate another engine 🤣🤣🤣

I just wanted a say a big thanks for going out running your truck and investing time and money into this. I have ppei and have wondered if I should switch to Danville or starlite sometimes and this gave me a great comparison on my lbz. I have a 68mm so very similar setup. Again thank you a ton.

Do you know what the typical hp gains are for the tunes? I know every truck varies. I have an 2012 LML with an s&b, a fass 150, and full deletes amd thats it. And i am having trouble how much hp my street and race tunes add.

What does your tune file look like? Guy is saying he sold me starlite tunes. Another diesel shop is saying the file doesn’t look like starlite files. He said it should be labeled “race.sl.coz” mine aren’t labeled like that. So I’m trying to figure out if I got ripped off.

@@robsdiesel2470 a guy off a duramax forum I’m on. I mean, the guy is cool and standing behind it in trying to figure out what’s going on with it. (The tunes have burned up two transmissions in 3 months and smoke like a train on the highest 2 tunes) So they may very well be starlite. But I’m just torn on what to think. Because I have one diesel shop saying they definitely aren’t, and him saying they definitely are.

Thinking about running Danville tunes because I plan on running a Danville STG2 68 mm turbo but if PPEI is better than I’d like to run them. But I hear their customer service isn’t good so I’d like someone who can re-tune once a turbo and CP3

Tyler Kelly yes it will not hurt anything. It’s possible you could gain some drivability switching to Danville trans tunes just for shift strategy to keep the bigger turbo happy but not super important IMO

I’ve had excellent customer service with PPEI. I have a Danville turbo and I have ppei ecm and tcm tuning. I’m running stock trans and stock fuel and had them play with my shift point maps because my turbo was barking from the defuel while pulling grades with a trailer.

Savage reviews ya I don’t like the timing but drivability (spool up, shifting is better, less smoke) PPEI is the only one that the trans made a perfect shift no matter what. If I was wide open after 500 mi of mileage testing then it still shifts perfect.

Can't wait to see the ridge runner tunes video. I think I have narrowed my choices to starlite or ridge runner. Looking for clean tunes for towing and hope to maximize my fuel economy. Don't know what I can gain for mpg I'm already at 25mpg highway when driving 65 with the mods I have now.

Another fantastic video, your subscriber number should take off before long. Question about your MPGs: Are you actually calculating them, or going from the onboard dash info? My 2005 with a very mild tune gets ACTUAL 16-17MPGs no matter what. The onboard info says 21-27MPGs depending on how I drive it (less I suppose if I really drove it hard, but I don't). I could go for 20MPG... :)

Hammerhaus Kennel remember my truck is a 6100lbs 2wd and on the mileage tests I’m running no faster then 65mph and never more then 40% throttle. I had a 2001 3500 that I could never get more then 16mpg out of. Some trucks do better then others.

I did not use trans tuning. Most of them won’t sell tuning anymore because of a 3 letter government entity.

I heard that with starlite you can used your EDGE CTS2 Pro monitor to switch EFI Live tunes on an LBZ. Do you know if that's true?

Nathan Hengst if you buy the new CTS2 Pro, you can specify that you want it for LBZ switchable tuning and it will work with any tuner. The CTS2 will come with wires that go to the ecm (lb7, Lly, LBZ or lmm)

Kyle Stephens if you don’t have any problems with Dans I would keep them. They were awesome tunes. They shifted a little better then Starlite but Dans smoked quite a bit when I lugged the truck at all trying to pass. All in all Dans were awesome tunes

That’s exactly it. They work ok, the tuning has come a long way since those came out tho... you get what you pay for. I had one on a LB7 I bought and it was ok but nothing like EFI Live from a reputable tuner.

I have an lb7 with ppei tunes, my transmission is sloppy, it’s okay on low tune up to 3, then 3 gets harsh. 4-5 feels like a manual transmission. My Allison doesn’t like the tunes, im going to buy the tcm tune from them soon.
