Tune-O-Matic Bushing Removal (Fast!)

A method I learned from my friend and mentor Steve K. many years ago. I use a slight modification, and I also highlight some caveats you need to be aware of, although most of the time this trick works beautifully. Beware of thin bodies, though. The Schatten tool is better for those, unless you want to punch a bushing through the back of a body.

The Schatten knob and bushing puller tool is my favorite for those. It's a great design. Well worth the cost

The Schatten Bushing puller that I mentioned earlier in the video. It will work on anything but can be excessively complicated for open ended bushings where this quicker method will work

I have never in my life heard that bridge referred to as a Tune-O-Matic, only as a wraparound or stop-tailpiece bridge. A TOM has separate saddle and tailpiece components.

Yes, this is correct. What I meant was "any bridge that mounts with studs and bushings," but that came out as "Tune-O-Matic Style." Unfortunately, semantic errors like this are easy to miss during the recording/editing process. They're certainly a pain, as one tiny semantic mistake is impossible to correct after uploading. KZbin only allows for deleting and reuploading videos from scratch. They don't allow replacement of audio or anything else. Also, they've done away with annotations, so you can no longer add corrective notes as captions after the fact. Not sure why they did away with that. Being able to add annotations with corrective notes was very useful. This is similar to my broken pickup diagnosis video where I mistakenly referred to "infinite resistance" as "zero resistance." I just may go back and re-upload this due to you catching this mistake, however. I do appreciate it.
