Dang $500 for this YJ was such a good deal!
@ManleyMachines Жыл бұрын
Honestly it was probably one of the best deals I've ever found. We put a motor in it since that time, and still the Jeep owes me nothing. We probably didn't even have to change the other engine, but it was from a '97 and had unknown history. I got a replacement from Titan engines for under two grand and it just seemed like it was time.

I tuned up my 95 YJ and it still ran like crap. 😂 I only use my Jeep YJ to pick up bags of concrete for projects around the house. Sometimes i move the boat about 10 feet or so. Other than that it's like having a gas powered golf cart. 😄😄😄
@ManleyMachines Жыл бұрын
I'll agree that the 4-cylinder Jeeps can be very much like a glorified golf cart. I put a brand new engine in that Jeep just a few weeks ago and it still runs like crap. Replaced every sensor, I think it's just inherent to the four cylinder.

Does putting the 4.0 throttle body give same results as a throttle body spacer?
@ManleyMachines3 жыл бұрын
No, the 4.0 throttle body is a larger throttle body. While I don't think you get any more power, you do get a lot more throttle response with the 4 liter throttle body. I can tell you first-hand that the throttle body spacer didn't do anything. These four cylinders are very low on power to begin with, so increasing drivability is more important. The 4.0 throttle bodies are dime-a-dozen at any local junkyard, give it a shot.

How hard is it to do that flsuhmount pod mod for the parking lights, and do they activate with the blinkers?
@ManleyMachines4 жыл бұрын
It was very easy. I drilled holes in the lights where the factory turn signal screws are. They are hooked up to the blinkers, but I don't have them on the parking lights. There is a way to have both, but I haven't had time to research it.

@@troygallipoli3638 not terrible if you are familiar with tools. It's one step past pulling the water pump, and removing the crank pulley. Rotate the motor until the marks line up, then remove/install new. However, this does need a new engine. We have a piston that's got skirt issues....

Where did you find the jeep for $500.00 0.0
@ManleyMachines3 жыл бұрын
I was in the right place at the right time. There was a small amount of frame rot that a shop had convinced her was structural (it wasn't) on the rear leaf mount. I fixed it for less than 100 bucks, and gusseted the rear frame mounts. Also - I did explain that it wasn't as bad as she thought, and I offered to repair it... but she wanted it gone. So $500 was her "scrap price"
