Guys, there's nothing wrong with Ford's engineering of the drain plug or its location. It's your technique. Do not open the oil fill cap or pull the dipstick before opening the drain plug. It's spraying everywhere because you open the floodgates by doing that. Remove the drain plug FIRST, then after a minute or two when the oil stream slows, you can open the fill cap. Oil will wet the sway bar and nothing else. No reason to remove the dipstick until you check the oil level after refilling. With the fill cap removed, pulling the dipstick does nothing to increase flow or ensure a complete drain. Try it. Peace.

In my 2019 3.5 tt, after driving on ramps- 1. Remove belly pan, those 4 bolts are 8mm, remove all but rear passenger side, rotate to passenger side 2. 15mm socket for oil bolt loosen but don't take off 3. Hold a 11 qt waste oil pan up against sway bar and with other hand take the oil bolt out SLOWLY for a minute, then drop in. pan. 4. Clean bolt and tighten down-Don't over do it! wipe up drips. 5. The oil filter can drain front OR rear, Fords cool pan is sweet!. Front if truck level, rear if on ramps like in this video, remove filter, Verify the oil gasket is on the old filter 6. NEVER use a tool to tighten the oil filter. The first time may need a tool but you should only hand tighten the filter 3/4 turn once it touches the block. I write the date and mileage on the filter since I do three different Fords. 7. Add oil 6qts 8. Start engine and check for leaks. 9. Replace the cover in step one, loosely start bolts then snug up one at a time. 10. Check oil level-should be perfect. 11. Clean up 12. buy that fumo tool drain valve.

Nice vid. Tx 👍🏻👍🏻 You need to invest in a Milwaukee M12 cordless ratchet for poppin bolts like the ones on the belly pan. Or tight spots you cant turn a wrench. Absolutely priceless installing Banks Techni-Cooler and boost tubes on a SuperDuty. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Don’t know if it makes a difference but I wait to open the oil fill cap/dip stick until after I open the drain plug with the idea that it would reduce how fast oil splashed out

Yeah we still have the truck, the owner moved to Pennsylvania and we are based out of NJ that’s why it hasn’t been on the channel lately. I believe with his new set up (305 Nitto’s and a leveling kit) the truck averages 19-22MPG it used to have better MPG before the upgrades obviously
