It's not the mds, it's the vvt. Mds isn't really that good for them either but combined the 2 and let it idle for EVER and it puts ware marks in the cam. Vvt if you can picture it, the cam has some give to it so it lags behind when it's not being used hard so the emissions are lower, when it needs more timing or you stomp on it and open it up the cam kind of rolls up to open the valves more. Another problem is the rings on the pistons are moved very close to the end, also to help with emissions. This doesn't allow you to boost and turn large amounts of fuel to it. The motor is great, if you're going to tune it hard all you need to do is change the pistons, the rest of the engine is very tough. When I say hard I mean over 500 hp out of that 345 hemi. Just na you could get it to 375 hp to the ground and not mess the pistons

I can get snappy throttle on my 318. Called a lighter spring lol. There is one thing though, new cars certainly have nicer interiors. I'll give them that much and that engine sounds alright. Not bad for strapped down for emissions on the exhaust.

I’ve been running the Edge Pulsar for almost a year now, works pretty good! Saw a dyno chart for 27rwhp which is pretty decent for a N/A tune.

Ruben M I just leave it on performance, the warranty is gone the second you tune any vehicle. Edge claims it doesn’t leave a foot print but the dealer will always be able to see any modifications done to the truck. I’d recommend telling them not to flash the truck though.

fast851 Tow mode just feels a lot less responsive, kind of the middle ground from stock to performance. The performance tune seems to really pull around 3-3500rpm.

@@geoffreydarnell6899 I have the AFE dry filter set up. I've had it for awhile so I'm not sure if they still make it or if there are better options. My buddy has the same truck and has the K and N. He seems to like that. The AFE kit relocates the filter lower in the engine bay under the radiator resevor.

The problem is if you add mods you still need to unlock your pacman and tune it they should make it so you can custom tune it

So I bought the pulsar for my 2020 ram 1500. I set all the settings, tire size, axle size. So I filled it up with 93 and set it to sport with the MDS off. Well first off the throttle is horrible. You barely press down on the pedal and the truck shoots off. The lag is still there but the pulsar has made the throttle positioning open farther at than the stock pedal position. It makes the vehicle surge bc your not use to how far to move the pedal. Next the MDS being turned off is the same as if you were to use the gear selector to the highest gear. If you have the pulsar, look down at the gear on the dash and you will see it is in 8. But that’s cool. As far as increase in power I really don’t feel anything except the throttle opens more like the pedal commander and the shifting still feels the same. I’ll give it another month. One thing I noticed it down shifts a lot and barely pushed the pedal down.

It's just recommended if your going to run in performance mode. Otherwise you should be okay with mid grade fuel.
