Thank you so much. I now understand the difference between a base map and the tuning and refining that goes into making that base map better. And also appreciate you doing this in English which I’m guessing isn’t your first language! Just a random, funny question - does the speeduino ecu have an obd2 style port for your laptop to connect to?
@throttlebuddies05 ай бұрын
Great to see that it helps. No the ecu is connected to the laptop with usb There are some ecus that use a serial port though but not obd usually

@@throttlebuddies0 thank you mate. One more question - do you use Tuner Studio MS or Ultra?

I use the normal version

Does acceleration enrichment affect autotune? Should it be disabled?
@throttlebuddies08 ай бұрын
in theory it shouldnt, although in "very easy" it might affect it somwehat

Im finding that auto tune will tune my idle and then it will start to jump around and also want to die at stop lights, so I lock out those cells from changing and this seems to help keep idle stable and no die out when rpms drop back down. 99 miata.
@throttlebuddies07 ай бұрын
Yeah thats kinda the issue with autotune on idle that i said in the video aswell. You have to set idle to a fixed value and dont let autotune modify it

Good video, from what I have seen there is also Lambda Delay reference table seems like a good idea to also set that one (I think it could be possible looking at the logs, when e.g. DFCO kicks in vs RPM vs AFR), not maybe initially but to fine tune the autotuner, what do you think?
@throttlebuddies08 ай бұрын
havent messed around with it yet, the standard values seemed to be fine for me

Could you recommend a good and safe timing map? I am currently tuning my 1.6 na miata with a larger t3 turbo on US 91 gas. It gets very hot where I live and I do not have access to 93 octane so I am worried that I’ll experience pre-detonation on basemaps. Also, I noticed that a popular basemap, Trubokitty, has what looks like different timing and afr maps depending on ECU. I know the table sizes are different but why would the tables be different? I am running a speedyefi if that matters. THANK YOU!

Would i be able to use this for a 650hp application? I want to use this to control the manifold port injectors i will be adding to my build. It will be dual injection ( direct and hopefully port injected)
@throttlebuddies08 ай бұрын
sure it would be possible, you would need to just be a bit more carefull and do really short pulls at the beginning and get a basemap. Also start on the richer end and let autotune dial it back

what's the deal with above 100 VE values like 119 122, you need bigger injectors? shouldn't be 100 or 99 maximum volumetric efficiency?
@throttlebuddies06 ай бұрын
@@sorinsop the injector size is correct. Its often the case that you have values over 100 especially when you dont have accurate data for dead times. And in forced induction applications you are pretty much always gonna have ve values above 100 since you are obviously forcing more air into the engine
