I have been practicing Tung (Yang) Style Tai Chi for 43 years. In this video, I am demonstrating the Basic Solo Exercise with fewer repeats. For the most part, this form utilizes high steps, which are recommended for practitioners to further develop their balance by clearly differentiating between light and heavy in stepping. However, in some movements, I am expressing different degrees of stepping, timing, and transitions. Please reference Tung Ying Chieh's red book, "Tai Chi Chuan Explained," for excellent photos of his postures and particularly his form transitions.
