Excellent material, and great to see pictures of Yang Sau Chung, too. I learn his branch of the Yang style so it is heartening to see direct examples of the Master himself. Thanks for showing us this.

Great to see some nice, practical tai chi application. Especially some of those sweeps at the end. Just a shame this real stuff is so rare. Please keep passing this on !

The sweeps come from the Tung family fast form, not Yang style.

Thanks for putting this together... I am also from a part of this lineage... It's great to see different parts of the fast form and applications.

Ecellent footage, even if not well understood. What I have learned is - taking from Passive, through Medium to Active response. Thank you and best regards, Paul, 67, retired instzurctor of Karate.

Thank you for sharing the footage. Here in Prague we also practise taiji passed down via Dong Huling as well as Lim Bo-Yan.

This is the best that Tai Chi can offer nowadays! Hiowever all this stuff show clearly that this is not an effecive martial art!

It’s all throws and takedowns! How are those not practical?! I have seen some techniques here from wrestling and other grappling arts.

@jaugmartins No, they aren't. Taijiquan uses the same techniques as other martial arts, BUT applies a different set of skills in their use. You have to learn standard martial arts first, then you take what you have learned and amp it up by learning a whole new set of skills. You start by learning tingjin and nianjin ("listening" skill and "sticking" skill). "Listening" means your sense of touch, not hearing, and sticking is just what it sounds like, sticking to your opponent constantly. You can't listen if you don't stick, and you can't stick if you don't listen. These are beginner, foundational skills. But this is how you eventually learn to move your opponent with only a few ounces of effort and without trying to counter force with force.

@@Ge1Ri4 I know tht all! That´s my daily trainning since 40 years ago! Thar is whay I say, that , accordinfgly to my own experience, this is not effective in a real scenario of confrontation. But this is only my experience and othersmay feel different!

to bardzo ładne malownicze ale kto podczas walki podchodzi na macanki ja widze to raczej na zasadzie uderz odskocz . Chyba żę aikido albo judo. Co też raczej jest sztugą niż walką
