Tucked behind the great cliffs and barred off from any normal access, is the haunting presence of a strange structure, similar to others you have seen before... And just like with the others, you feel almost as if you're not supposed to be here...

Sometimes the soundtrack alone is not enough: This area is not outright in the OST, but bears a similarity to the track 'Black Phosphors'. It comes complete with the haunting wind that howls through the mountain range, and the strange humming emanating from the ominous machinery ahead...

Thank you again for recommending it! I knew this place had some interesting ambience but I didn't know it could be this interesting-- I love how it almost sounds like there's distant thunder far beyond where you can see. Perhaps it's an omen of the thunderstorm that comes at night? Foreshadowing? Who knows, but it's very fun to think about.

the definition of the calm before the storm...the little fox about to enter the quarry and with them fight the corruption of the pillars that drain their health, and an army of scavengers.

Something I hadn't noticed until I made this video is that 'calm before the storm' may be literal, as you can almost hear what sounds like rumbling thunder in the distance-- it could just be my ears deceiving me though, but it definitely does set up a tone. Interestingly, in my playthrough, I accidentally found the second entrance to Quarry, so I only found this location later on-- fun that your experience can be totally different from others!

you're right, it was only recently that I completed the game without using any upgrades that I realized how much you can change the course of the game just by going to pick up the hook at the start of the game.

This whole area just feels like "Unremarkable and Odd places in Tunic" but... calling this place unremarkable feels weird... It's just a pass, but it feels... liminal.

Someone get AnyAustin on the phone. He needs to investigate for 15 minutes. This location is rather strange, as it is merely a means with which to get from one point to another, but if you actually stop and observe what's happening, it doesn't fully make a whole lot of sense, does it? It serves a purpose, but at the same time it serves no purpose. It's just a little Obelisk, sitting by itself, waiting to be activated. Much like all of the others, but this one in particular is noteworthy because it is one of very few locations in the game that has no enemy encounters whatsoever, it's merely.. a forbidden pass. Intriguing.
