@SapphietShyies5 күн бұрын
Thank you! The border is a combination of various stock images of Game Boy Advances that I made personal edits to myself, some stickers which I edited as well, and a generic overlay preset; the lighting effects on the border were also done by me. The LCD grid and filtering was not done by me, I believe it was something stock in Retroarch. I've done something very similar for consoles as well, to a CRT TV overlay; stickers are so much fun to use for decorating for things like this.

This was an interesting little side adventure to go on, one that many fans of TUNIC may enjoy very much. While a little clunky and somewhat homebrew-like, I think it was quite charming, and something that TUNIC fans can appreciate. :) Sidenote: I avoided certain treasure boxes and paths, as they seemed to freeze the game for me when I approached. Once again, this project was made possible by MintFerret, please feel free to check out their itch.io page and support them for their work: mintferret.itch.io/tunicdemake

I've been wanting to comment one of your videos for some time now. I,ve never actually played the game unfortunately but I watched a full playthrough and interviews of andrew and kevin. It's been making me more happy in general for the last few months. Such a chill and beautiful vibe all the way around. Over the last month, I had a lot of final exams and needed to study long hours and your tunic ambiance videos really helped me with that. They use the perfect percentage of my brain so that I neither get bored nor distracted while working. So yeah, it's not like I was depressed and it saved my life or whatever haha but it added a little happiness to it consistently for several weeks, which I think is also very valuable. So thank you for taking the time to create all these videos. If you ever wondered if you improved other peoples lives, now you have your answer. ;)

You're right; I noticed it myself in my second playthrough of the game. It also throws in little notes from the bad ending of the game. There are actually a lot of reprises for specific tunes in this game that aren't as obvious, like the Librarian's fight theme having parts of the bad credits theme as well-- and even reprising the West Garden theme.

i feel like this is the first mix where the different *ambiences* really shine. the thunder outside with the normal music and normal ambience... it's nice. also, i just noticed! this is the first one of these where the ruinseeker isn't conveniently on either side of the screen- they're right in the middle, which was probably at least a bit tough to make, right?
@SapphietShyiesАй бұрын
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy them, the ambiences in this location can be quite intriguing and interesting; whether at night or during the day, this place is always somewhere I tend to wander off to if I need a break in TUNIC to just listen to things. The visuals are actually two separate 1-hour recordings of live footage where I legitimately stood there for an hour solid; at night, that's one hour, during the day, that's another. In order to make these, I have to make sure I'm standing at the EXACT same spot at both times (not easy to do at all times) but I specifically wanted this one to show off a neat detail; the Ruin Seeker's idle animation is faster at nighttime than it is during the day! Foxes ARE known to be nocturnal after all.. ;3 Double-videos like this aren't always the easiest to make, but I find them rewarding because you really get to get the vibe of both the nighttime and daytime version all at once; the songs are typically at the same exact tempo with variants of ambience playing, and I think it adds to the already-amazing atmosphere.

@SapphietShyiesАй бұрын
Thank you! I'm really happy you enjoy it, this specific video's shot wasn't the easiest to get, because of how precise the angle was. I think it worked out in the end! This specific location was one I was hoping to get in originally, but decided it wasn't interesting enough, so I'm happy to have gotten it this time around; it's not the first room I ever think of when I think of the Library, but it's definitely one of the more powerful ones. The lights flowing in from the windows is incredible. That's.. that's really weird, honestly! When I was producing it, the sound was fine; perhaps I mixed it weirdly (I used slightly different methods for this one compared to the way I usually do it) and my capture software just didn't understand it, but listening to it now, it doesn't sound spacial at all. The world he had envisioned still continues to stun me to this day. :'3 When I played the demo for the first time, I had no idea that TUNIC would come to be my favourite game; I also had no idea how much it would differ from the final game. I would play the demo over and over-- and when TUNIC finally released, it was like I was playing something that was merely a myth, come into reality by sheer magic alone. It was incredible. It still is. And so, we celebrate it.

I alllmost had the nerve to make this a video where the scene gradually fades from day to night (along with the music) but I thought that the mix of both at once was more interesting to listen to, and without the actual lighting of the game cycling, it would have looked.. off. Even though I'm hoping to get everything for TUNIC, admittedly I won't be getting the 'Standard' edition; they haven't announced it, but I emailed them a long time ago, asking if the vinyls (in general) were one-time print; they told me that it was just this 'deluxe' version that was one-time, and that they're releasing a standard edition later. Just having the vinyls is enough for me, having two sets? No thanks. xP
