Realizing what the hero's graves were and getting into one for the first time and finding this place was the part of the game where I really leaned back and went "oh my god these devs just get it" My favorite era of LoZ was always the time of OOT, MM, TP and WW, seeing that statue in hyrule castle in WW when I was a kid always got me to really understand the legacy OOT link had across all 4 games. I can't help but feel this game was lookin directly at me, haha

I went through a very similar path in gaming when I was growing up; Ocarina was my bread and butter for a very long time, but Majora hit me a bit harder and is an amazing sequel, in a series where sequels don't often do well. Majora & Ocarina compliment each other so well that it's frightening-- and when I saw the statue in Wind Waker, I was stunned as well. My favourite part of storytelling in Wind Waker is the fact that the Hero of Time is depicted wrong; perhaps his tale was told over and over, to the point where people merely only knew he was a youth in green with a sword and shield. Even the Hero's Shield is blatantly wrong. Thank you for your awesome comment, I love reading things like this that fans of TUNIC experience-- it really is an incredible game, and it does look at the viewer with a smug grin every now and then. ;)

​​@@SapphietShyiesyeah seriously. I wouldn't call it smug, it feels like it's the game looking up at that statue right alongside you. Nostalgia baiting in a sense but in the best way, where it makes it as grand as the way you always imagined it as a kid. Even the architecture looks like it was ripped straight out of wind waker and twilight princess, I love those spires coming out of the mist below.

I have to agree with your statements and observations you've mentioned in your comment, and it makes me wonder even more profoundly about certain things in TUNIC. Some of my favourite storytelling in TUNIC is done through environmental evidence; a favourite of mine is how there are a few 'Administrator' robots that are typically seen in Ziggurat, present across the Ruined Atoll and Frog's Domain. All of these robots are turned to stone, but at the entrance to the Golden Door for the Frog's Domain (which is already open, the hex gem of which is stolen by the Librarian) there rests another robot, just one. It is evident that this robot had a 'mate' to it, and you would be forgiven for believing it was for nothing-- however, you can easily find the mate of the administrator robot in the Librarian's Laboratory, along with other tokens from the Frog Domain, including banners and (perhaps) even treasure chests. There are other pieces of storytelling like the fact that the teleporter to the Librarian is actually the one from the Graveyard. These kinds of things fascinate me-- references, especially, are amazing just like these. It makes me fall in love even further with TUNIC-- as if that were even possible!

Thank you, I'm glad I could provide something you enjoy. :3 TUNIC means a lot to me, and especially to a lot of other people. Providing small little 'portals' into the world, where you can just sit and absorb the atmosphere and everything, is really something special, at least to me. As I always say, sometimes the soundtrack is simply not enough. The ambience adds so much more to it. If you have any other locations you'd like to suggest, feel free to recommend any specific areas you'd like; we're very quickly coming to the end of the amount of spots I can do these videos for, and I'd love to get everyone's favourites out before the end. Everything except the Boss Themes are on the table (specifically because, while they're great tracks, I don't think I could do them justice; they're not exactly 'ambient', are they?) so if you have a super-special place you'd like to share with everyone, I'm more than happy to get to that spot and take an hour-long rest there for you. :)

@@SapphietShyies the opening section of To Far Shores that plays in a loop over the title screen is quite relaxing I think. Without the UI elements I feel like the title screen itself could work nicely as a video, or perhaps there's a different place in-game that you think deserves the spotlight? There are a handful of beautiful views in TUNIC that aren't blessed by a great ambient track to accompany them.

I've actually already prepared for that video, and have found a way to record it properly and fully. The audio was prepared already, but it's gone, now-- but I'll get one set up and upload it for you to enjoy. It was actually going to be one of the last videos I uploaded! I think it's a fantastic spot to look at and I think it'll be great to see. Thank you for the suggestion! I hope you'll enjoy it when it's up. :) Remember that, even if the area shares the exact same music as another, it's still perfectly fine to make excuses for-- I'm no professional or anything, I just like providing nice little views into the world. Someone might even be able to make Wallpaper Engine stuff out of it, who knows. :3
