as a hobbyist game dev, the fact that his was done by a solo developer is amazing. Hats off!

Been excited for this one, the best thing about this past Game Awards was the release date reveal for Tunic! Cool to see the camera shift based on entering hidden passages or shortcuts - really enjoyed something similar in Death's Door. Just don't see enough of that in isometric titles IMO. Definitely buying this after work, hope the devs get a ton of success! (Side note: the map design looks spectacular)

Dev, no S, it's pretty much a one-man band operation which is why it's taken so long

Nice! Kinda figured once I saw the steam name listed for the developer. Makes sense, as some of my favorite games have been solo devs. It's insane the level of talent those people have.

I wonder if KC is contractually obligated to use the term "recursive" when describing the nature of the game so that the term can gain traction. Somewhere Yahtzee must be smirking
@ArthurDraco2 жыл бұрын
It's a good name for the genre, and it might not be 100% accurate(i think there was a comment on the Slightly Civil War video explaining it) i think it should be used by more people.

I heard good things about this game being one of the top indies you must play(so I did since it was on gamepass) and after experiencing it for myself I can see why. The music is beautiful and calming. Now the combat can be a bit frustrating since you need to press LB (in Xbox)to change weapons or use consumables. I wish there was a better way to implement inputs while in combat without going into the menu and switching your shortcuts constantly. I also experienced getting stuck in the environment quite a few times and sometimes the path wasn't very clear when going under hidden areas. The blue gem took me the longest to uncover and the last boss was brutal LOL. Other than that exploration is amazing in this game and the manual has everything you need to figure out your journey Absolutely a gem.

@@transientanus I've been playing it for a bit and I just beat the siege engine, it seems like the game gives you plenty of hints through the booklet and you can piece a lot of what you need to do. At least it's been that way so far, idk if that'll change later on.

I really wish that Tunic learned the language over the course of the game. Don't mind being puzzled at the start but I hate if a game leaves either me, or the game's character, puzzled at the end still.
@alexanderblixt12212 жыл бұрын
Learning the language was one of my favourite parts of the game. It's a whole new experience to go through the world and the manual again once you learn to actually read all the text.
@eneekmot2 жыл бұрын
You don't need to read the language to get either of the endings. One of the puzzles for 100% completion requires you to be able to read, which you can decipher yourself once you have most of the manual, or use online help for.

@vinny19522 жыл бұрын
i personally found the combat to be nearly perfect, lock on is mid, im not sure why. The bosses are Perfect imo, not dark souls level of difficulty, but not exactly easy either. Learning the boss move sets came quicker than tradtional souls-like bosses.

Curious about this game but having played it I really don’t get it. What exactly are you supposed to do? No, seriously! There game gives you no objective. What is your purpose as the protagonist? What am I fighting for? So far I’ve been given a stick and left to wander aimlessly. The ‘text’ being in an indecipherable language is not world building, its just frustrating. I get some games prefer to be hands-offs and leave the player to find their own path but there’s a limit to what is workable. You need some direction in the early game to establish the mechanics and what you as the player are trying to do. This game does not have that.
@BlueAversion2 жыл бұрын
