I have high hopes for my 02 Type S. I really need to dyno it and retune it. I bought it used from a friend who bought it used from another friend. It has a very old tune, but it's running on Hondata, semi built head, full bolt-ons from intake, to header, to exhaust, also got carbon synchros, stage 3 clutch, and a bunch of other mods that came with the car. It revs out to 8300 rpm, and it feels pretty good, but I know it could be improved, especially in the driveability department. My butt dyno says around 220-230 whp, but seeing the numbers in this video makes me think that I could be making around 250 whp or more. In cold weather that is.

Hondas are always awesome, they are the most reliable, and surprisingly easy to work on.. I’ve only had one Honda minivan, but I’ve had numerous Honda bikes and lawn equipment.. I swap and trade and when I’m offered a Honda, I never asked many questions, and they always traded good because they are good!

If this is the 02 type S, they swapped out the headlights and bumper for the 04-06 rsx type S. It’s not tear dropped on the bottom of the headlight frame. But it looks great, I thought it would be k20z and when you said k20a2 in the description I was thrown off a bit

I'm assuming the jump in power around 4500 rpm is the vtec cam coming on. With such a jump in power it seems like you could have the vtec turn on earlier and have a smoother power band. But I'm sure if you could you would. So why can't you ?

I’d assume they keep it at a spot where you can stay in vtec while shifting high rpm but can also cruise without constantly hitting it for no reason

I have. You'll be A-OK. I think tuners cap the VTC at 40 degree or less so there's no piston to valve contact.

I have a similar set up with the k tuned header making 215whp. I think the skunk 2 alpha header makes the most power.
