Pretty stitch ... how would you make a border for it? Where the ends have been tied on the sides is very noticeable.

Perhaps an envelope border. It's often used in tapestry / mosaic crochet to hide the ends, no need to do magic knots

Slow down the video and watch how I count each stich especially at the ends. Practice practice practice! Also with tunisian crochet I count every stitch every row even after 15+ years of crochet 😅

Unfortunately you just have to unravel it and do it over until it's correct. I probably missed a stitch in the first messed up row and it snowballed after until I got it back on track.

I don’t understand... at the beg with the back pass, you started w going through 2 loops at the first st; then later switched to doing only 1 loop which is the traditional method w Tunisian. Can you explain plz? I understand wht the 2 for the foundation sc row, I’m talking after. Thx

I plan to use a variegated colored yarn instead of the rainbow. Is there a way to not cut the yarn at every row?!

Unfortunately no. If you want the front forward pass colour to be different from the back return pass you have to cut. A good rule to know if you are able to do colour changes without cutting and just carrying the yarn up instead is if a pattern has an even amount of row repeats. So eg. In order to create the full stitch pattern it would need to be a 2 row repeat, 4 row repeat, etc. If it's an odd number your yarn colour won't be on at the start of the row where you need it to be. I hope that makes sense. In tunisian crochet the forward and return pass count separately for "row repeats" in terms of colour changes. So your yarn colour would have to be carried through both the forward and return pass of the row to allow for a colour change without cutting. Hope this helps!

No, the yarn would still be at the wrong end of the row every time. There is no turning your work in this tunisian pattern
