I would love to see a live performance video of this song. I also think it would get more video play and sell better if it were promoted more; I don't think it is well known that Rege Jean Page is the voice behind TUNYA. The song has a great vibe; I purchased the song on iTunes and very much enjoy listening to it. It would be a shame if more people were not introduced to this song...it's just that good! Kudos to Rege Jean Page; good writing and composition of the song. As the mother of a dancer/dance teacher/choreographer, I feel confident in saying the interpretive dance is well done in the video. Although, I really had the urge to help the dancer stand that darn broom up. Wishing all involved much success with the video and song.

I believe it is based on a poem Rege wrote after a ‘waking dream’ about his father who died in the 90s. Please see reply to above post where I have written what I think I know about the song. Note in this version last word is ‘son’ as in ‘sawn’ which is the way Rege sings it throughout. Yes, I think it’s an anthem, father to son Rege. Oh lord it’s grand. Love

I keep coming back to this video. You can tell that there was a lot of effort put into this creatively. Lately, my own creative bubble has felt like it's has been popped for good, but this video---the song, the power in the vocals and lyrics, the choreography---really inspired me to write something of my own for the first time in so very long (I'm talking years). Rege worked sometime during 2020 to produce this piece. He had written the words with brother Tose based on thoughts or ‘waking dreams’ of his late father. His friend Jack Brown wrote the music. He put it all together in this Tunya production but said later producing was not something he had enjoyed.

His friend had just got married and the lyrics are what his friend was feeling for his new bride. The friend came up the melody and some of the words but he and Rege including his brother came up with the song. So it's a love song and a song for "Black Lives Matter". yesterday I read the lyrics but for some reason didn't listen to the song.
