On a side note, you don't *have* to get a full system on this bike. The cat is actually located in the stock can. Most decent brand cans for this bike will come with a mid pipe as well. So save yourself that ridiculous amount of labor on the headers. But because of this it is HIGHLY recommended you get the race map flashed to the ECU when doing a slip-on.

Just wait until you try Shiv’s Stage 2 or Stage 3 (needs RSV4 RF airbox) tune. Refines the throttle even more down low with a very noticeable power increase).

I still have the exact same reaction as you when I ride mine. SC-Project exhaust with a flashed ECU. I like to ride it in track-mode, then it's 'talking' to me. You for sure know what I'm talking about. :)

You should have installed the gabro airbox kit from italy. It Updates the airbox to the bigger one of the rsv4 rf. You can use the way bigger airfilters aswell. What would be Overkill is adding the variable injectors of the rf Modells. Tuono makss about 185 horsepowers afterwards With oft

Hey Jaret, so pleased you are doing an RSV4, I have the 1000 version! so all of this stuff helps a lot. A few weeks ago I tried to take the tank off and the same thing happened to my nutts (lol) so thanks for the solution as wasnt sure what was going on! Also the guy at the Aprilia shop and the guy who i brought the bike off both said if the cat is removed from the exhaust ie if you swop the end can for an SC project one ( that doesnt have the cat in it) that you need the race ECU map.However the guy at my local bike shop who races RSV4's said thats nonsense.I put on the SC project can on and it works fine. my next task is to fix the tank nuts then change the filter. With a slip on you don't always have to tune the bike BUT I would recommend it if you want to get max power and efficiency

@@JaretCampisi Yes mate maybe better too for the health of the bike for the long run. I was told that for using it on the road you wouldn't notice that much difference ( for the 600 euros ecu map ). Would need the full Akra system and setup as what you have done to really notice it. You can always send me a 100% discount code at motomillion for the mapping if you like ;). On another topic my RSV4 kills me riding it for the entire day. Should had gone for the tuono but didnt like the look of it, spent 500 on some riser clip-ons which are better but not the same..so if you can end up with the tuono looking like the race version then that would be a pretty awesome bike that you can ride all day!. PS i did hear you talk about some additional paneling to go on so think you're on the right track. Cheers

That guy who races RSV4s has no idea what he is talking about. These bikes almost HAVE to have a flash with slipon that removes the cat, ESPECIALLY with a short can like an SC project soup can. Call AF1 racing if you arent sure. They'll tell you what I just told you.

Berkeley March Please listen to Connor Peck’s advise. By putting on shorty slip on can you are removing back pressure which will cause the bike with stock ECU to run lean at high rpms. So you may sound cool but 1) you are actually losing power and 2) you will end up blowing that engine running lean or at least shortening its life. But it’s your bike... do what you want.

Jared, nice job, brother. You are definitely making all the right moves on this project. I finally got to test one of these machines a week ago and I was blown away by how good it actually was. And yes, it was the black factory! This was a bike I have always wanted to ride, and now that I have, I think I am going to have to own one. And I blame you! HA! :-) Thx for the great work. I didn't notice that much difference in throttle response with just the exhaust and race ECU. I'm betting that opening it up with that hi-flow filter did the trick; or a combo of all 3. Anyhow, the filter is my next mod.

@@fredrikmehlin I think the race ECU is worthwhile as it protects the engine, especially the exhaust valves, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference in performance on its own. I've heard great things about Gabro as well.

@@Claimjumper55 but you can buy The gabro for about the same money as race ecu. I would buy gabro because as I wrote the race ecu aint worth the money for the minimal change it does. But now you can load the race ecu for like 30 dollars yourself and then its worth it. But not for 700dollars. No way!

If you didn’t know you have to do a traction control calibration now that you have a new ECU. Look in the manual on how to do it.

The OFT Stage 3 map you flashed on the ECU is meant to be used with the Stage III airbox kit (basically an RSV4 airbox). Just switching out the air filter doesn't do much other than letting more dust particles through. What's important is the size of the velocity stacks sitting on top of the throttle body intakes. It's $345 for the kit and I think you should add it to have the OFT Stage 3 map work as designed. He didn’t flash it to stage 3, he flashed to race mapping. It had stock, race, and stage 2 on this particular OFT. There wasn’t a stage 3 option on this one. On mine there is and I know what you’re saying but doesn’t apply for what was done here

Jaret Campisi when you read the original ecu map you send the file to shiv at oft with you options ie pipe,filter and fuel and he emails you the stage 2 and 3 maps. That’s what I did on mine. You should have 3 maps. Race ecu map(Aprilia stock map),stage 2 (slip on) and stage 3(full system)

I had the mt10 from new, I flashed the ECU and a pipe werx exhaust and was fipping amazing! I got a bit bothered by the looks after a while, so I took 2 tuono 1100 factory's for test rides and was gutted! I wanted to love it because of the looks! Anyhow after watching some KZbin vids on how to turn all the electronic shit off I went on another one with an ecu flash, race exhaust! 1st thing I turned off all the "safety features " Boom! Wtflip absolutely a beast! A little more of everything then the MT10! And looks fucking awesome!

Not at all, more like help it. Manufacturers sell the stock bikes with the ecu dumbed down to pass emissions.. (more lean on the lower and mid range) unless you get a proper map you'll never experience the full potential of your motor imo.

K&Ns air cleaners are no good. Used them for 30 years but they pass too much dirt, then they can't match paper flow once they get used for awhile. They do make great oil filters.

Although an entertaining video not very useful. What would have been useful is seeing how to do the throttle resets that you skipped over, and saying how long each of those steps took etc. otherwise you may as well just skip to the test ride and results.

You can do it for $20 using a cable from lonelec.co.uk and two free programs (funded by donations) called IAW Reader and IAW Writer. And just search the apriliaforum to get the race map.
