I am converting a "Buchaneer" (Chrystler Built) 18 foot "lake boat"~. A fast boat that a tree fell on and now my son has me sending it to "demolition.," So I took off all the fiberglass on top and "just the hull" has been there for 20 years. Not able to redo with white oak ~ what is around here in New England. So just this week. I realized that my effort to make the hull flatter and wider is actually wrong. Now I am making the hull into a Canoe. Narrow the hull as much as possible not widen it. It is about this size. I do not have enough time for this video now. But I have subscribed. Your Ama's are about what I am planning. I also work for a Dock/Water float making business. All aluminum. That's where I'm going for the parts. I am determined to make this happen. I have the hull the centerboard trunk in the middle centerboard, tiller, rudder, mast main and jib sails. I even have an extra main sail for maybe a genoa. It will happen. I am determined. I'll be back. Godspeed. From New Hampshire. ✨🌸✨

That is a nice boat you built I would not mind building one that size and learn how to sail before I got a bigger one like that I would enclose that thing and make a nice little sleeping spot and take it camping. But you did a good job building it it looks nice thank you for sharing your project.

Ok Ok Ok, I've been able to peruse your video again this morning. You should be commended on this build. Your glass work and the result excellent. Thank you so much for sharing this effort. I don't know where you are located but mainly I am interested in the design of the Ama's. Your design is unique. I did take some information from a drawing that sort of flashes on the screen. A "Trimaran" build,I'm finding, is another popular You Tube subject. I've looked at a number of posts and usually the Ama's are lower volume. I will definitely incorporate the bottom v with vertical sides. Thank you. ✨🌸✨

Interested in doing this myself. Just need to ask: are the pontoons able to be folded in so the craft can be transported on a normal trailer ? Probably already addressed😃 in the videos.

David, thanks for the comment! I dreamt of building such a system, but didn´t have the time/patience to dedicate to it, although I´m quite aware of the advantages. Many solutions came up during the build, so some day I would need to begin to elaborate some technical drawings if I decided it was worth it.

You can see in the video that the boat is on a trailer and the amas are on the roof of the tow vehicle. So it does break down.
