The fight with Alduin might be underwhelming for being the literal World-Eater, but Bethesda really did do Sovngarde right. The sky, the music, the ever present fog filled with the dead heroes of old and your own playthrough, the massive mead hall and the Whalebone bridge guarded by the towering Tsun. It really is a sight to see. One of the coolest parts though is how no matter where you are in Sovngarde, the statues at the edges of the valley will always be facing you.

I believe this really is, according to the in-game book Song of Skyrim, it says "The following is an ancient song we've only recently been able to translate. Without a tune or a sure pronunciation the song is lost to time. It's included here to show the deep history of song here in Skyrim. The original version..." then it listed the Dragonborn theme's lyrics. The problem is, they sounds similar, but the lyrics were not exactly like the theme that you'd hear when you're fighting a Dragon or in the main menu. It sounds like tune+chanting for parts that the tunes were unknown. Now this song, shares the exact same lyrics from the book, with a completely different tune and melody, it sounds more completed. This song might actually be the real Dragonborn theme that was played during the said "time" in "lost to time" by the ancient nords in Sovngarde.

Rebeca Stanca You're right, but the translated lyrics refer to the dragonborn who comes to sovngarde to end the world eater. So actually the song is very specific to your character, the translations are around if you want to read them.

I highly recommend a DLC sized mod, called Lordbound. It's about a valley between Skyrim and High Rock, locked in a war with a Breton lord's military, and tribal Orcs. It's very pretty.
