Nice looking forward to seeing how efficient these are.

I got the same wheel covers from tessories but mine didn’t come with any of the black protective tape. Now I’m wondering if I should go and get PE foam tape from bunnings 😅. A bit worried if those small groves would scratch the well after sometime. I also really like the look of the covers on my white model 3. I didn’t put the Tesla logo on them because I like them without logo, for now…

Hi Johan. That’s great. I’d just email Tessories. They are pretty helpful. I think the foam also helps with noise so they might make a rattle noise without it.

@@notinthemanual good point. I'll do that. Thanks!

I only found 2019 and later for the Model 3 at the Tessories. Will those fit the 2018 19 inch?

@@davetibbals5872 All the 18” Model 3 wheels that use Tesla aero caps are the same other than the highland M3. If it says 18” then they should fit. 19” will most likely be model Y base model Gemini wheels with a different style aero cap.

@@davetibbals5872 Unfortunately Tessories stopped selling these caps I used in the video. Looks like these are the only ones they have left in stock for the 18” wheels. tessories.com.au/product/model-3-plaid-hubcaps/

I like the look of them I changed back to the aero wheel covers and they just looked weird!

It was kind of a long video so I skipped through it but does anyone really know which direction you're supposed to put the wheel covers? Is the flat part facing forward at the top or Is it the tapered beveled edge?
@notinthemanual Жыл бұрын
Some are directional/symmetrical and some aren’t. It depends on the covers that you buy. The directional/symmetrical ones are really just for looks. The efficiency saving is negligible. I would have them with bevel facing forward. I found these wheel covers were not as efficient as aero covers as they create more turbulent air around the wheels increasing drag. I forgot to put chapters in this video. There are hundreds of videos on wheel covers for Teslas I am sure there are some short ones out there.
