Nice on the brakes. Is that the new Gen 2 setup from Airkewld? I know they’re supposed to be out soon. Sucks about the tranny but at least it’ll be money we’ll spent. I’d be nice if the local guy at least gave back what you paid him. At least that would square up his inexperience. Thank God you didn’t try to run it!

The front brakes do about 75% of the braking, on average. It might be slightly less on a beetle since there is more weight in the rear, but still the rears are unlikely to do more than about 40% of the total braking. Been enjoying watching the build, thanks.

Yeah I know it's different for most cars.. type of brakes and the master cylinder your running probably change the proportioning.

Thank you for sharing all the things you could have kept to yourself! Have you considered getting a willwood master cylinder? There is a speed shop that sells one with a kit to fit the bug.

Yes, I've looked at them but just don't see the need right now... maybe later down the road. Let's see how this one holds up. Coolrydes Customs has them in there kit I believe or one similar to the Wilwood MC.

That's a custom job done by Darrel, I'll check and see how much he would charge to make it.

Jason what is the machined pipe sticking thru the fan shroud on Red VW.

That is the inlet to the intercooler for the turbo set-up. In the video we show the Throttle body with the blow-off valve. That attaches to that inlet.

Does the Por15 caliper paint require a top coat for UV protection like normal Por15?

Hey brother, no not from what I read... but there are some cleaning and prep products they recommend. I really don't think those are nessary though, especially with new brakes. The Mineral Spirits worked fine.

No brake booster yet... not sure if there is a kit or something available for one?? That would be a cool upgrade.

The clutch is a Kenedy stage 2
