Lol I got pulled over in Chicago in my bugeye wagon. The officer was so mad that he couldn't get me for anything because I don't have laws about modified cars in the county of Indiana that it is registered to. He pulled me over because I downshifted in a tunnel with him right next to me. Apparently he did not think it was very amusing.

@@diegomontoya7004 I have the Awe track catback exhaust and just pro-tuned for flex fuel. I think you can find a CARB legal intake only problem with that is Im sure they’ll still give you the state ref assuming you have other mods. My engine bay looks stock besides the flex fuel kit that’s hidden. I shift to neutral and coast when I’m passing by cops or keep the rpm’s low enough that I don’t lug and make noises.

Front mount intercooler and nice intake system also helps. Aluminium piping can also help resonate the spooling sound

@@katastrofe6388 this kind of flutter is okay, the kind that’s bad is the stereotypical high pitched “stututututu” you get from clapped out supras. This sound comes from the bypass valve valve working, the other sound is due to compressor surge, which is basically air that travels back through the turbo when you let off the gas. As long as you have a functioning bypass valve on your car you’re golden and your turbo will make some happy noises 👍🏼

Sure you can! Front mounts, intakes, bypass valve etc are all still tunable on the accessport. And if you don't want to use the Accesport you can do open source tuning!

That’s a myth about it causing strain on your transmission. Your hand isn’t heavy enough to cause major damage or wear on your transmission

​@Alex Labeda engineering explained. Look it up. He proves it does put unnecessary wear on the internal linkage. Fun fact. Some car companies tell you not to rest you're hand on the gear selector. They actually put it in the owners manual. Google it

@@jeffawake4669 yea that would normally be the case, but with the VA and VB platforms, the transmission has a remote shifter, so no stress on the linkages. The remote shifter cables also have some (very slight) slack built in them, so that when u take it apart, u can put it back together. Neither the shifting cables, nor the linkages will be affected by having the hand on the shifter on a remote shifter. Wish engineering explained mentioned this in their video.

So this is a Boomb BPV and because you have the FMIC it sounds like this? Sounds insane! Cuz I have the Boomba BPV, stock TMIC and an intake. It sounds so nice but mine is at a higher frequency of speed I guess you could say. Wondering if it's just because of the FMIC that it sounds so damn good.

It’s the front mount because it has more air pressure build up to vent through the bpv then a top mount.

Sounds good but unfortunetly it is compressor surge caused by air going back out the intake of turbo and it makes the compressor surge almost to a stop so it is better to have better blowoff to atmosphere or a good diverter valve to blow back infront of turbo to that it more spooled also put your valve closest to the throttle plate for faster more responsive release of air and re-spool

You lack an understanding of what is happening if you think it can even get close to stopping the turbo, the surge/flutter doesn't slow the turbo down at all.

@@DriftNick no it sure wont stop a ball bearing turbo but a small journal bearing style can come to a stop untill the last surge stops… every chuu the wheel stops for a split second and almost wants to go backwards… chuuu chuu chuu will slow your turbo down when air comes back out the other way, common sense for fuckk sake. @@heathkill4821 Does not matter what type of bearing it is, it's not possible for it to stop, the surge would correct itself way before they could happen, also people have tested this on a dyno and there is no difference in turbo speed between running a valve and not when you lift off the throttle, anybody that has run an engine with no valve would tell you there is no difference in lag. "How many turbod vehicles on and offroad have you owned, built, and tuned" Have you ever removed a bypass/blow off valve and tried it? of course you haven't, that is why you don't understand it does not cause any lag, if it did it wouldn't be common place in motorsport not to run a valve.

Id like to see you on a video with a small k03 turbo off vw or audi and get yourself a drop in replaced ment turbo that has nee tight journals, they can come to almost to a complete stop at surge stall and like i said SMALL K03 turbo for not bug ball bearing for fuckk sake do people have commen airflow cfm knowledge anymore wtf.. when air goes one way and then comes back out the other its gonna slow things and also put pressure on the throttle plate which is why every real deal big build has a bov as close to the throttle plate as possible to get that air out as quick as possible to stop surge, now take that diverter or biv and stick it on the turbo side and there will be a little hesitation in the diverter or bv opening and you might get a little chuu before pssshhhh.. you will learn in time and yes any good engine builder will say compressor surge is no good and thats because we know and are not fooled by the bolt on parts people that really dont have the knowledge.. i know a bigger turbo isnt gonna come to a complete stop but the smaller ones can for a split second.. and again its common sense what happened to people brains these days air going one way then forcings its way back out doesnt seem optimal and in reality it isnt optimal… it just sounds cool, but talk to a builder or tuner they will say CUCCKKAAA still got chuu chuuu chuu, add another bov or diverter valve and get that air out or recircualted asap for quicker response and spool

But the larger the better air flow so less to no chance of lag on blow off… little turbos do not like that on the other hand and its well know i cant believe there is a person that doesnt know that but maybe you never messed with ve or audi 1.8t or 2.7tt them little turbos will die from compressor surge stall

Aftermarket BOVs can be adjusted so they have potential to make the turbo much louder, and the less restrictive intake doesn’t muffle the sound as much as stock. But if your BOV is this loud making the flutter you’re kinda tanking your performance. It causes compressor surge which blows air back out of the intake, which decreases boost.

Just remove/block you standard bpv...the flutter is compressor surge as the boomba springs too tight and recirculating little to no air

Meh. Trans blew up a few thousand miles ago and did the sti swap but the engine still feels strong. It's all in the tune and the right mods I think. I know 3 people running 500+ on their stock block FA and I know someone who pushed over 700whp on the stock FA for a while. I have faith in thr stock motor. But I'm not sure if I would push it much further. I'm wanting to make 400-450whp but keep the Torque close to where it's at.

It sounds like you got a Leak on your turbo, check on your inter cooler. Should double check the clamps connection

Mine had a similar sound after getting the clutch replaced. Watch the boost gauge the turbos leaking but it’s an easy fix

Am I tripping or are you lugging the engine on a few of those mini pulls. I saw you at like 50% throttle 5-10psi only at 2k RPMs. I could be wrong, but if you are, you're gonna blow that engine my dude.

He's close to lugging it. I would say 1k-1.5k rpm at 50% throttle is lugging it for these cars.
