Glad to see the is300 back on the road. This exact engine build is what I will be working on pretty soon, have all the parts just need to start breaking down both engines. Can you also go over where the vvti adapter hose is connected to on the non vvti block, I was going to use the mishimoto oil sandwich plate to feed the vvti but I might go with this driftmotion adapter. Thanks for going over the build!

Thank you glad to be back on the road! Its a pretty solid combination The VVTi adaptor uses the stock oil sensor pickup to adapt AN line to the VVTI solenoid. You could also use a oil plate adaptor. Drift motion sold the line ready to for for like $70. Its not listed on their website so I had to call and ask. Ill try to show more detail soon.

New build looking a lot better! I'd like to clarify, the VVTI GE pistons are considerably weaker than the others (along with the rods obviously) however the non VVTI GE pistons like what you're running, are just as strong as GTE pistons, as long as the tune is good.

Hey man I’m finishing up my motor with non vvti pistons and rods and a gte headgasket as well. Did you do a break in procedure on your engine before going to the dyno?
@PH0204 жыл бұрын
everyone with a 2jzge should consider a 2jzge non vvti for the future, all the JZ heads swap over 1J 2JZGTE 2JZGE nonvvti and vvti heads. you can find non vvti GEs in first gen GS300, early 90s SC300 , here i can find those long blocks in the junk yard all day for 300-400$
@C3GARAGEMedia4 жыл бұрын
Agreed. I got my block for like $300

Hi did you identify what broke on the old motor? Would be great to see what went, I know you mentioned you suspected it was a ring ?

Are you getting any engine lights from removing the abs? I know you will have a abs light no but just wanted to see if the oem ecu will trigger a light. Asking because if I do abs delete I’m not passing visual inspection.. but I love the way non abs feels.
@C3GARAGEMedia4 жыл бұрын
Yes I do get the ABS light. For my purposes it doesn't really matter as the car is used for drifting mainly. Thanks for watching!

Did you just have a engine mount made for the side that doesn't line up?
@C3GARAGEMedia3 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean? Bolts right in stock location. I did use megan racing mounts.

I have a gs300 and needed to make a plate to have the motor go in the factory spot.

Right on! I plan on turning it up once I get it on a Dyno.

How do the brakes feel with the ABS delete? I'm on the fence with it.
@C3GARAGEMedia4 жыл бұрын
Feel great. Took some tuning to get it to feel like I want. Went with a bit more front bias for drifting. Worth while mod.

U mind me asking how much in labor you’ve spent? I’ve been getting some insane quotes to do a simile setup with a nonvvti bottom end with the cx kit
@PH0204 жыл бұрын
easily done under 1000$ if you do most of the work yourself

How did you run the vvti head oil line on the non vvti engine? Or aren't you using the vvti?
@C3GARAGEMedia4 жыл бұрын
Drift motion sells a line that goes from the stock oil pressure sensor to vvti solenoid. I currently have my vvti unplugged due to a wiring issue.

What motor mounts did you end up going with? I have a feeling mine are shot too.
