I have the Levo SL Comp, and I love it! I have peripheral neuropathy (muscle weakness and loss in my lower arms and legs). I don't have the strength to pedal a regular bike up hills anymore. I had a 2019 Kona Remote CTRL, but it weighed 52 pounds. It was too heavy and not nimble. I did not enjoy it. I had trouble lifting it up when I fell on a technical section of a trail. I still have to work hard on the climbs with the Levo SL Comp, but I enjoy climbing with my friends. I enjoy the descents even more with my SL than I did with my Kona. An eBike got me back on the saddle and ripping single track again. I'm forever grateful for eBikes and the Levo SL! It's a HUGE INVESTMENT, but well worth it if you want an e-bike that is nimble and light. It truly feels like a regular bike with assistance. I can climb well with this bike. I imagine an "able-bodied" person would fly up hills on an SL model. I hope you enjoy your SL as much as I do.

Thanks for this comment, I had been obsessed with riding bikes most all my life from BMX to MTB... until just a couple years back. Ironically I had an order for a Remote 160 at a local shop that was never fulfilled (Covid dropped that year). Just before I placed my order I had demoed an all mountain e-bike at our local park for a day. It changed how I wanted to ride single tracks, I ordered my Remote 160 (would have been my 3rd new Kona MTB) and just about stopped riding the Process entirely. My interests were also changing as my new found surfing skating Surfskating obsession replacing time I would have spent riding... Now Im staring at the analog bikes in the garage thinking maybe I should ??? But I doubt I will. Not after having shredded up the single track - almost like I was going down on because of an all mountain e-bike! It was a feeling of being like a super athlete almost! I have actually only rode my analog a few times after. It ruined me... today, years later this "Levo" SL exists and now ... well now videos like these are confirming it may just be the most perfect bike for me at this point in my life.

The SL has half the power but it's lighter and more nimble. The full fat turbo levo has twice the power of the SL and is heavier but can power through gnarly terrain. I have demo'd both and they're both great. Also the SL has a slightly more responsive motor and less drag when the motor is off but since it's less powerful its like a helping hand whereas the normal Levo is proper powerful and you can fly up hills. If you want to have one bike only and still want the "nibleness" of a lighter bike so you can pop and move the bike around easily then get the Levo SL but I if you want to have an e-bike and a normal bike then get the Levo. I would get the Levo personally because although it loses some of the playfulness of a normal bike with the added weight and longer wheelbase, it is an absolute blast to ride and makes the climbs almost as fun as the descents. I'd keep my Stumpjumper for when I want to get a bit more playful on it or just want a good workout.

I'm guessing Little Creek or Gooseberry Mesa at the beginning? Not sure where the final single track minutes are. I'd use an e bike for desert miles, not so much the mesa. Great point on lighter weight as I have a 2021 Giant Trance X E+ 29 3 and it's 52lbs...

I have one, super fun trail bike. Too bad it doesn’t come strait with a dpx2 or 36 option, but I made those upgrades and it was worth it to do more jumps and gnarly stuff. Amazing bike to manual and play on. Not as easy or fast to climb as other bikes, and a slack seat tube angle...

This is a really good video. I have a basic Costco e-bike but i also ride Canondale non e-bikes for my hardcore stuff, I think the specialized is going to be my next purchase. Just took my costco e-bike on trail's in the redwoods and was killing it up hill passing everyone and its only 250 watt motor. Its a cheap bike WOW hills dont exist like they used to. Now I want a Specialized. xD

I hate seeing a good product then going to buy it and it is out of stock everywhere. Also, what's with the 25/28mph speed restriction on all these bikes that are off-road. Whoever is making you do that needs a kick in where their nuts would be. I have a Dualtron kick scooter that goes 50+mph and I really might beat you up and down the hills.

Got a sl this week, its what came in to my lical dealer, kinda wanted the levo thinking the sl might feel to weak . But it is awesome and climbs all my hills in Tennessee no problem

So let me see. You spec the SL with a fox 34 and a crappy fox DPS shock. Yet for your videos you run a 36 up front (I’m guessing 160mm) and a Fox X2 in the back. Then make a video how great it is. I love my expert SL. Just had to dump 1600 to upgrade the suspension on a 9k bike

I got the 2021 cube Instead. For 4199 I've got a bike with the new Zeb fork, carbon frame, decent rear shock and great tyres. Also no suspect motor issues

@Nathan Libot I worked as a mechanic in a shop, servicing and selling Specialized and can't think of a single time that Specialized was anything but perfect with customer service. I have a 2019 Stumpjumper and couldn't be happier with it!

Skip it , I’m selling both of mine because of their crappy service . And one of them is the new Turbo Levo SL expert carbon . Wich broke with only 2 weeks of riding and it’s going over (3) months of oblivion. And I truly loved the bike and my 2019 Stumpjumper expert carbon . But this really has me so angry that I just purchased a Yeti SB130 Turq T2 model and as soon as I solve my issue the Levo SL is goin for sale and the stumpy also. And canceling my Diverge carbon order.

I own the expert carbon. Personally I wish they sold it in a frame only, but I guess they are selling out anyway. Super “playful” for and ebike or even a trail bike. Just wish it came with DH brakes and a burlier build option, but cornering particularly is awesome. Chunky fast stuff is where it’s just an average trail bike.

Jeremy Eden IDK about that. Maybe, but a bigger battery would probably just be a Turbo Levo right? The key to this bike is light weight. Even a 150 36 or lyrik would have been cool. Even a Grip2 or fit 4 damper in the 34 instead of the grip on a 9k bike... the range extender takes me more than 30 alpine miles with lots of elevation, so I’m not sure it needs a bigger battery.

Really digging the geo and think those short chainstays and 63.2 degree ha would be great for me considering I enjoy sections of trail the other side of 50 degrees. @@haribouss Actually the answer is Bulls Ebikes. Far lower failure % compared to Specialized.

@@donjon1733 Bulls = Brose or Bulls= Shimano? Cause they play with different motor brands. Hence your answer is ... mehh! ;) I had two shimano ebikes, and heard numerous failure stories on Brose mag motors. All I can say is that sl 1.1 seems more reliable over time.

@@haribouss Yes... Specialized and Bulls both have models that use Brose motors, but the difference is Specialized messed with the motor software in order to "optimize" performance. The unintended consequence was a dramatic increase in motor failures (hence the warranty extension). I've had 4 motor replacements in 1 year and I'm not alone. Since the redesigned levo release, Specialized has had to perform numerous software updates and beef up the motors. The point is.... don't be in a rush to market and don't use your customers as beta testers!!!! mehh!

la mia le rompi accidentalmente por dejarla sin cuidado en un poste (el viento la boto y reboto 3 veces en el mismo lugar del frame con un metal, la base del poste y el tornillo que lo sujetaba) , es verdad que no hay garantia solo descuento por accidente por reemplazo pues no recomiendan el repuesto pero tengo la suerte de conocer un mecanico quien los repone barato y con garantia de por vida...en vez de esperar mas de un mes por un reemplazo y pagar mas de $1500 dolares por el, solo pague $500 y en menos de 10 dias arreglada, 16 meses despues y sin problemas que la uso hasta en el invierno canadiense sin parar, ahora la tengo con proteccion (ride wrap) mas 2229 y 2228 tape en la partes mas expuestas a las rocas y piedras, no ando con cuidado y los chicos del taller me ruegan que la cuide jejeje
