Turbo Mustang with Bumper Exit Exhaust. Is it LOUD?

2018 Mustang with an on3 single turbo kit with bumper exit exhaust, some driving impressions with the windows up and down.
Surprisingly it's quieter than I thought it would be, no drone and very quiet in cab while cruising normally, actually quieter than a free flowing exhaust N/a Mustang. Under boost or hard acceleration it does get loud but who doesn't love the sweet sound of turbo/turbos spooling.
Overall I like the bumper exit and thing it's very dailyable also lessens the potential for back pressure issues.

That's impressive. Thought it would've been much louder. Now my only real problem is figuring out how to stop my bumper from turning black with the fumes... I'll be on 93 for a bit until I set up the return style.

@@CmoneyGarage Yeah... maybe I'll try to run full exhaust and hope for no back pressure issues, I don't think it'll be a big problem on 9 psi.

Turbos act like a cat converter, it dampens the individual pulses from the exhaust headers. Turbo cars are generally more quiet than N/A cars even with an open downpipe like this one.

In the install video you mentioned the temps without a fan shroud. Did you fix that?

Yes. We added a bl fab shroud that I modified and running 1 stock fan and 1 slim electric fan. Temps are perfect now.

I have a Procharged 5.0 with the race bypass valve, SW long tube catted headers, and Borla ATAK catback and it is crazy loud. It legit shakes the house when I start it in the garage, moreso when it's cold. It's crazy to see how much the turbo quiets it down. I have to ask, do cops in Florida care about how loud the exhausts are? Here in California I have to switch it to quiet mode every time I see a cop cuz its a $600+ ticket (but my car would be state reff'd)

This car went with the bumper exit, on3 offers a option to keep you exhaust just have to choose that option when purchasing.

how did you go about tapping the oil pan

Installed the turbo and draintube to get and idea of where I wanted the hole. Grease on the drill bit, pilot hole and then the main hole, grease on the tap (to catch all the small pieces). Screw fitting in with silicone on the tread and mating face that's touching the pan, tighten and let sit overnight.

Its not the sound its the exhaust fumes u have to suck in while driving

@@CmoneyGarage lol fair enough..... I think a better solution is pressurized dumps under the car. U only lose about two feet of exhaust travel OR a pressurized dump going out the side like u have it but an exhaust for normal crusing. Smashing it and inhaling exhaust fumes is livable with dumps. Driving all night with out not so much..... Looks kiiler tho lol
