you should get an an Eastwood underhood light bar its better than the harbor freight ones and cheaper then the snap on or matco ones
@jackstandbuilds4 жыл бұрын
they just built a harbor freight in my town I've went there twice and spent atleast 100$ each time, I may just try the harbor freight one first lmao
@RJ-nq5pd4 жыл бұрын
The harbor freight battery don't last that long you have to have it plug in all time but you can still make it work
@jackstandbuilds4 жыл бұрын
Gotcha. I guess I’ll look into the Eastwood then.

Awesome your pops is giving you a spot in his shop to support you. That 5.3 was killer even as a stock build with a bunch of bolt on parts. I’d get that crank re grounded and build that motor back up. Probably can triple your money for what you paid for it at the junkyard. Cool video, still wondering where did all that water come from.
@jackstandbuilds4 жыл бұрын
Felipe L yeah man I’m pretty lost as to where all the water and oil came from but I managed to pick up a gen 4 5.3 for less than junkyard prices so that’s what I’m building now, should hold a lot more power cause I’m gonna be doing arp rod bolts n head bolts
@JustAGuy7814 жыл бұрын
@@jackstandbuilds the Gen4 5.3L is not stronger, it is the Gen4 4.8L that is stronger guy. The rods in the 4.8L like in my 2011 Silverado are stronger which is why people take the 4.8L rods out and use them in the 5.3L.
@jackstandbuilds4 жыл бұрын
LS4.8 Frank it’s an original 4.8 iron block. I scored the 5.3 rods and pistons along with a gen 3 polished crank for 160$ the gen 4 rods are stronger than what I’ve got now without a doubt so I’m just gonna send it. Arp rod bolts and head bolts
@JustAGuy7814 жыл бұрын
@@jackstandbuilds the Gen4 5.3L does not have stronger rods than the Gen3 4.8/5.3 bro is what I'm saying. You need the rods out of a Gen4 4.8L, those are the strong rods. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am bro.
@jackstandbuilds4 жыл бұрын
They are man. Look up an image of a gen 3 5.3 rod and a look up an image of a gen 4 5.3 rod. The gen 4 rods are stronger than the gen 3s whether it’s a 4.8 5.3 6.0 doesn’t matter

I doubt the turbo caused the bearing to spin.. it was poor oiling or poor oil pressure or even low oil.. high RPM could have caused engine to starve for oil
@jackstandbuilds4 жыл бұрын
Miguelspl150 yeah I wasn’t saying it was the turbos fault completely but I mean it all started somewhere lol. More speed for cheaper! But yeah it probably was 7k rpm that did it on the stock bearings. It had amazing oil pressure before I pulled it out weirdly.
@Miguelspl1504 жыл бұрын
Jack Stand Builds yeah sounds like oil starvations.. happens more often when oil doesn’t go back down to the pan quick enough.. there are fixes for that tho. Oil pan that hold more oil or possibly a oil pump upgrade low volume high pressure
@JustAGuy7814 жыл бұрын
@@jackstandbuilds which is exactly why I am running a Melling HV (not HP) oil pump. The turbo needs oil which adds to the starvation so to remedy that you need to run a HV oil pump. Next time enough know, but it wasn't because of the turbo.

@@JustAGuy781 what part number did you use? Any risk of draining the stock pan
@JustAGuy7813 жыл бұрын
@@cambilt1683 i am not sure of the part number, but I ordered mine from Texas Speed. And no it will not drain your stock pan bro. Don't modify it and install it as recommended and it will be fine. The only issue I had with my turbo fit up was the turbo drain line. At full oil with the stock pan and the drain line at the passenger top rear of the pan I still had oil coming out when I tapped it so I had to have my tuner relocate the drain to the front on the side (not the timing cover). High volume is recommended for turbo, high pressure is for engines with a very healthy cam and so forth. High pressure can also prematurely blow out gaskets and seals.

if you havent, gap the rings. then your "stock bottom end" can handle at least 900hp.
@MaTtYyo9204 жыл бұрын
Nice video. Misewell get new rings and gap them right away. Use a bunch of assembly lube on the rod bearings and crank that is what I did.
