FYI . I run factory and remote oil coolers. Remote oil cooler fan I run full time after engine is warm. 2276 with 15 pounds boost. Oil temp stay around 140 in the sump. Also the oil runs through intake plenum. This helps to cool and stop gas droplets from forming. RLR turbo set up.

That’s an awesome set up! I’m thinking I’m only going to have mine run when temps get to 190°. My factory cooler is doing a fantastic job but it needs just a little help when it gets really hot.

That fan switch may not last with the amps the fan pulls. My oil temp switch recommended running it through a relay. Just an fyi dude. Looking sweet!

I thought the same thing. But the instructions for that switch didn’t call for a relay. So I wired it with a fuse to the battery. I’m thinking of running a toggle switch to it with a relay and fuse so I could turn it on whenever I want or when I’m parked to cool down.

I though the filter needs to be in line before the cooler. Maybe in warm climate it doesn't matter. Sweet bug!

I don’t think it matters. Been running it like this since I installed it and still don’t have issues.

So I have a question. When you built this bug, It turbo is great, but with the amount of power. Did you have to change components in the trans? I’m asking because I have no idea. And this is a dream type build.

I actually got a new transmission from Benco Transaxles. They built me their “turbo box.” It was built for turbo use. It has taller gears, super diff, etc.
