Because way too many folks who want to comment don't know what fun is. I personally don't particularly want a rocket 3, but I love that it exists, and the event looked like an absolute blast. Having been on one of triumphs sanctioned demo rides, they know how to have fun. I'm in the market for a new bike, and I wasn't even considering triumph, but at a demo event, I figured I'd give a tiger 900 a try, and between the bike, and the ride they took us on that I won't discuss the details of for legal reasons, well, soon as my old bike goes, triumph will be selling me one.

I traded my 2015 Rocket 3 Touring for a new 2023 GT this calender year (2014). At 77 years old the 2015 touring was just getting to heavy for me to handle. I have to say my GT is nothing but an absolute pleasure too ride. Great performance, handles great, feels super light, and just a joy all around. Makes me feel like a kid again. Best decision I ever made. Triumph hit the bike out of the park on all points except for restricting the top end. The Rocket 3 GT does it all...enjoying the ride. Fun, fun, fun!

Had an excellent day on both the R3GT and R3R as well as one of my own (a 2007 TTS Supercharged) would love to be involved in another Run-What-You-Brung event with BikeSocial. 5:57 is my butt leaving the line for my first ride on a Gen2, the R3R 12:17 is me setting off to trial the R3GT. Out of the two I personally prefer the foot position of the GT. Gave more confidence with it being easier to grip the tank between the thighs. I'd personally prefer more of a difference in height between the riders seat and the pillion pad, after 110mph felt like my arse was gonna slide up and over the tiny hump.

@FR-ty5vn I think a couch is pretty close. @garretsmith8617 mentions the feeling you get, but I've ridden a Rocket3, and, imo, the feeling is as disappointing as the actual speed. It's just not a visceral bike. I have a naked honda Blackbird that will sprint past a Rocket3, even though they have similar HP and shit aero. The Honda Blackbird is known for feeling a little boring because the power is so smooth, but compared to a Rocket3, it feels like an absolute animal. Don't get me wrong. I think the Rocket is a stunning bike, and I LOVE the sound of a triple. It's just... I would need a loud exhaust on it because the exhaust is the only thing that would make me feel anything (same can be said about my Victory Kingpin to be fair).

@FR-ty5vn nor would I suggest you do. I bought both bikes for around 7k, so unless you bought some clapped out or wrecked Rockets3s, that would be a pretty silly financial decision. I would also suggest you never twist the throttle on any bike that participated in the Japanese speed wars because that feeling you get while riding your Rocket3 will never be the same afterwards. As for the Victory, there would be no reason to buy that over a Rocket3 unless you really want that potato potato exhaust note, or really like the look (that, and it costs a fraction of what a Rocket costs). To suggest either of my bikes are crap bikes, though, shows you are very ignorant, have an extremely fragile ego, or both.

@@ChaseB1896 No it doesn't come close to the numbers, but it does in the style. Both are what I call Sport cruisers. You can also mod a Vrod to be very comparable. The are endless videos of them with insane HP .

I would've loved to have been there as mine is the only one with a big turbo set up. 250 rear wheel BHP on a real dyno, set up by Sean at Big CC in Wokingham (Same guys with the European top speed record). I couldn't get a set of leathers which is a shame as I've been dying to put my bike up against a TTS super charged bike and end the super charged V turbo charged arguments forever.

Ive had my 2020 rocket 3 for 2 years now. 30k miles on it. Bren tuned other than that all stock. Fully tucked as much as I can be I’ve gotten 152 mph out of it. A true 152 mph. From factory the speedometer reads WAY optimistic from the factory. The first dude that hit 146 probably only really hit 135 actual. I put a slightly taller rear tire on mine. That corrected the Speedo quite a bit from stock. Stock rear tire at 86 mph on the Speedo actual gps speed was only 80 mph. It only got worse the faster I went. Now with the tire I have the Speedo only reads 2 mph faster than actual speed all the way to the 152 mph I’ve gotten out of it.

Rocket 3 seems to function more like the pick up truck of the bike world....top speed sucks but the torque will make the fun factor hit you in the seat of the pants. After reading and seeing a lot about this engine, it would probably be more at home in one of those cruiser Trikes towing a small trailer.

For a bike that makes twice as much power as a liter bike it lacks about 50mph in top speed! But it’s actually twice as heavy to.

It would have fun to have seen some 0-100 km/h (or 0-60 mph), 0-200, 0-201m, 0-402m times or similar. To me, time is more interesting than the speed :)

You're right, and if we were to run this event again that would be a consideration. The downside is you're then encouraging proper launches which can be somewhat tricky if you've never done one before, and the event was less about competition and more about exploring the performance. Nevertheless, a GPS tracker on a seasoned journalist, Triumph test rider or racer would have been interesting.

There is a company in America that can make the Triumph rocket have 250hp and no Not making the engine larger CC or adding supercharger or turbo. They put racing head pistons injection no de-restricted larger Brembo breaks and disks and I think that is all they did. It is one youtube on a run over 200MPH. I can't remember which Channel it was kept looking lots of talk about other Americans that had their engines raced tuned fitted so must be there.
