We have kept the same frame for around 6 years. It was time for an upgrade. This new model manual mill hosts a flurry of improvements such as:

Gearbox and dial for horizontal sizing.

Somehow just watching this video is oddly satisfying. I think it’s the idea of becoming more self reliant I enjoy. I know I would be interested learning more bout this mill. I like blades vs. saw bands.

Just wondering , but what if you based the cutting on the vertical instead of the horizontal pattern. Or at a steep enough angle that the pieces cut off would self dump and be out of the way of the next cut ( no need for that helper )

Customer can do that themselves if they wish. It would need to be an extreme angle though.

@@TURBOSAWMILL I was wondering , why not at 90 degrees , vertical . Start the cuts near the ground and work up . Boards or timbers would make a nice neat pile that you could clean up when the log is done

@@grazynazambeanie5963 We make a nice portable sawmill used for the farm. We are not a fixed site sawmill, I get what your suggesting, our patent application actually describes that. But the sawmill needs to be light weight and simple design. Our automated mill actually cuts the next board while you stack the first - very productive.

I'm not sure of your question. It's a different process to bandsawing. All edges are parallel to the first cut.

To me, this looks like it's only good for making trim boards, nothing of any size.

Well your missing some information... this will cut any diameter log. Double cut up to 16" wide per drop (chunk of wood 7" deep and 16" wide). Produce 1 x any width slab per log by flipping the log. The log can also be rolled like a bandsaw to produce as big a block of timber as you can imagine. But yes it shines in making quick edged lumber without re-handling.
