I picked up a really cool old retro fan and some vintage C9 ceramic coated Christmas lights at an estate sale a couple days ago. I show testing the lights.... one bulb sparking, and I also show cleaning up and somewhat restoring this neat old Dayton Industrial 20" three speed fan I picked up at the sale. Neither of the items I purchased were in the photos of the sale, so it was a pleasant surprise finding the old lights, then the fan.
Not sure of the year of the fan, but I would guess it's Mid 50's as it has that Mid-Century Modern look to it. I see some of these fans have chrome stands, some are painted. this one was painted, so I painted it for now. In the future I may have the stand and motor cover re-chromed if I have enough to make it worth while to pay for a rack at one of the chrome platers I use. From the research I have done, this fan is worth around the $300 range. I paid $14 it and $3 for the lights.
