Check steering bearing grease, did the welding melt out grease? gas tank good work. when you get better with the welder you will go and do some great work, it is all about the self-satisfaction and pride, you built it, and it is looking good. where you at, maybe I will pay you to build me one too.

@@flathead1930 I’m on Long Island ny, plan is to practice more fab but then I’m going to rebuild the front end w new seals and also do new stem bearings

Instead of denting the gas tank I think I would have cut it and weld in a "tunnel". And the braked, I would mounted the bolts from the top. Then they wouldn't fall out if they unthread. But that's me... there's more then one way to Rome 😅

Why didn't you just move the tank back so you didn't have to dent it?

2 things one is the petcock clearance to the carb would be affected, and 2 I may be changing the seat to a saddleman seat later on and that sits flush to the tank

that tank might need to be anealed.
