@@turinRTS Could be the polling rate settings on your mouse. There are online tests you can do to see how often your mouse is double clicking, so maybe try adjusting the polling rate using that to help? I had a similar issue and this worked for me

If you're using a logitech mouse then it's a famous issue with their omron buttons, I had 2 of theirs that were double clicking and a temporary fix is to just blow between the buttons before replacing for a new one, it lasts for like a day or just a couple of hours only though.

Hey Turin, I was having similar trouble with my mouse. It would constantly double-click when I had only clicked once. It turns out the spring in the button was going, and that it was a known issue with that mouse. Although there are ways to repair the mouse it wasn't something that I was personally comfortable doing myself and I just ended up buying a new one.

That mouse bug is probably wear and tear on the contacts. Blowing under the buttons may help for a little while but it'll keep coming back. I had exactly the same problem where it only seemed to happen in Total War games so I thought it might be a TW issue but it did start affecting other programs over the next 6 months. I think TW probably doesn't ignore ultra rapid double clicks as readily as other games.

For those who use wifi because cabling would be really awkward - use powerlink. It codes your broadband into the house's electric network. It's fast, it's reliable, and it unobtrusive. You need two adapters, but they're cheap. Don't use it on surge protected sockets or if a lot of your neighbours use it, but other than that it's great. (Mine hiccups ca. 2/year, just switch off and on and it's good.).

rough first misclick, glad to see you're getting a new mouse. I had an issue where mine was dropping inputs and thinking I was releasing or double clicking when I was holding down. Nearly killed myself a half dozen times cooking dynamite in Hunt: Showdown before I investigated and replaced. Mice don't seem to last quite like they used to sadly

Are you sure the mouse double click is a setting issue? Plenty of mice have this issue after a while and need to have their "clicker" replaced. Logitech mice are pretty infamous for this. Year or two in used ones, or some heavy clicking users even sooner, always need to have it changed, the issue is that it starts doing double clicks for single clicks randomly. Also, yay for GC finally, GC wasn't on the list of factions to play for the future? ;0

The mouse double click might just be bad too. Idk how old your mouse is but if its been a few years it could just be the end of its cycle. I've got 2 mice sitting around with that issue and no amount of cleaning has been able to fix them.
