Trying to pick the perfect setup site is part of the fun and part of the frustration. They don’t always do the expected. Hunting with a friend is so much fun. Kaitlin, you are such a good teacher.

I’d watch some calling videos! You made every call known to man in the 1st 5 minutes😂😂

I think sometimes when gobblers are henned up, the hens will lead them away from a hunter's hen calls. As the hens lose interest later in the season, a lonely gobbler can be easier to call. If you hunt a high pressure area, the gobblers can get educated real quick and you may have to ditch the calling and the decoy and go into bushwhack mode. As spring foliage gets heavier and thicker (to hide your approach), you can listen for gobblers and try to determine a direction of travel and get ahead of them for an ambush. I have had lone gobblers come into a field late season, see my decoys, and go the other way. I guess they get tired of getting shot at...

Getting your bird is secondary when your hunting with your best friend, I bet you two had great girlfriend talk that made the cutting room floor that only you two share

Bow hunting gobblers is my absolute favorite. I def don’t have a lot of common sense, though lol

Always good to see a vid from ya, personally i dont like jake decoys, had too many subordinate toms avoid it where as the lone hen decoy never fails

Good video. Try calling less. If your getting a gobble they heard you. You may find your turkeys wander in a bit closer. I only get real aggressive on the call if I have a hen fired up. She will looking for a scrap and being the Tom in with her.

I never have hunted turkey, but I think on your next trip I would just try to not even talk at all, they are probably very smart and have really good hearing. Maybe have a notepad to talk back and forth. When walking make pauses in your steps between loud brush. Mixing seeds and cracked corn is what they like.
