@gallibolu4 жыл бұрын

I have been to Ephesus at least over 10 times....every time we visit Turkey and go to Izmir to my husband’s family they all know that I have to spend a day at Ephesus.....never seen it without a million tourist there. Sometimes we drive up to The Virgin Mary’s house but for me I get freaked out at driving up that road...... Did you get a chance to see The Seven Sleepers it’s just outside Ephesus...it was a small but had interesting ancient ruins and story. Keep them videos coming!!!
@ElanurMH4 жыл бұрын
Yes The Seven Sleepers, a very interesting story wich you can read in the Bible and Koran. It is probably the first and only time travel in the history of mankind :-) Joke aside, some Islamic scholars see it as a proof or an indication that time travel is possible and could be realized at some point in the future. They also introduce it as evidence of the relativity of time and space

Hello from Indonesia 🇮🇩 👋 Marianne do you remember me? My name is Sarasayu. I saw you talking to Ms. Aytül while petting your new grayish best friend on your lap in Ephesus. And I started to join the conversation. Although we only talk for a couple of minutes but i can tell that you're a warm-hearted and a very lovely person. I really enjoy watching this KZbin channel. it encourages me to study harder so that someday I can travel and discover new things just like you. What a glorious experience! So much tactile history to explore! It's not every day one gets to visit a place a book of the bible is named after. Wow! Definitely worth getting up early for. Amazing! Dyson *does* make posh vacuums, but I don't think they'll outlast a library. Sorry, Chris, but it would seem you've been out-gifted! 😉😉 The House of the Virgin Mary looked very serene. A place of wonder, indeed! Teşekkür ederim! ❤❤😎👍

Great video - this place is just as fantastic to watch . Two bits that stick in my mind was the library - how beautiful is that? And the loos 😁 our guide told us that they used to have musicians play music whilst people did their business and sat next to each other !!! Also the Romans built a heating system underground. You were lucky to have the place to yourselves. Take care xxx

I love Ephesus, and really you were so lucky to get it mostly to yourself. When we went it was absolutely packed. Also, Selçuk is a lovely place if you had a chance to walk around. My only concern now is the admission price for Ephesus, 100TL of course for tourist is nothing. However for local people in general it is very expensive, so for many it takes away their chance to visit these amazing places in their own country. Wonderful video as always guys

The city of Ephesus began to be disconnected from the sea due to the alluviums carried by the Gediz River at that time. They opened a canal to reconnect it to the sea. But too much alluvium was coming. Everywhere was swampy. Malaria epidemic started. There were too many deaths, so they left the city overnight. One of the signs of this is that the marble piece prepared for the sarcophagus in the marble quarries outside the city was cut with iron piles the day before, but they did not come and get it. If you visit the hillside houses of the rich in the city of Ephesus, you will see that everything remains as it is.

What a relaxing tour. I was familiar with the amphitheatre and Paul's hometown, but your walk-around and narration brought it to life for me. I'm so pleased they could preserve some of the murals along with the statuary. As a cultural Catholic (my belief system is more open ended as a humanist now) I enjoyed seeing the church of Mary. Hmm, I have to look up how long after the crucifixion the Assumption of Mary bodily into heaven was. And did it happen there? The light was gorgeous, but with all due respect I could have done with less talking about it and just enjoyed it. I'm so glad I'm on this journey with you and Marianne has the most contagious laugh. See you next week.

We were there in July 2019, and while we certainly did not have the place to ourselves, we agree that being first in the gate helps beat the crowds! :) I laughed when I heard Chris' comment about Genuine Fake Watches, because I remember walking by that store and questioning the shop owner.
