My wife and tried Turkish Airlines twice to Thailand from the US and on both trips they gave us some excuse in why we didn’t qualify for a hotel nor a city tour when we had long layovers. We also even had business class tickets and their business class lounge denied us use of their sleep rooms/pods. Never again!

I flew from Cairo to Chicago with a missed connection in Istanbul. The room is provided because of Turkish law. They had to pay my room and two meals and reimburse my Visa to get into Turkey. I loved it. The next morning I only walked around for 45 minutes outside of hotel because I was exhausted from the long day of traveling.

It took me a bit to guess you're Hawaiian. I flew Turkish Airlines from Washington DC to get to South Africa. The flight experience was great. I love those flight kit packets they give you. Those were never used, but I gave them to my baby nieces in Panama. The flight attendant was very gracious when I requested a couple of the childrens activity packets (even I though I don't have kids), and I explained they're for the little relatives (typical Hispanic family issues) at home. I also flew Qatar to get to the UK for a week which was the service was amazing. Then it was Avianca back to Panama via Colombia. After this CV Crisis is over, I'm traveling the Pacific Side of the world.

Always enjoy the videos but that’s gotta be the first time I ever heard the phrase mouth banging in a food review, LOL. I’m using that the next time I go out with friends. Curious, have you thought about trying the three longest flights when they start up regular service, NY to Sydney, London to Sydney and NY to Singapore? All 17 to 20 hours non-stop. I saw a review on NY to Singapore where there are 4 seats in economy, back of the plane where’s it’s like first class because there’s no seats next to you.

How did you end up in a window seat on a LONG haul? Great expression at 11:42. It reminded me of my first ANA flight. Got the meal and asked the flight attendant 'what is this?' as I pointed to some round things. She looked and said (and I quote): 'Some kind of fish'. So I put that to the side and ate the rest. I found out later that it might have been scallops. Its like the line from Sean Connery in an airplane in HIGHLANDER; 'I do not eat anything that I cannot easily discern. Great videos, thanks for keeping us informed and entertained.

the employee benefits charge is wild, especially that they're declaring it--i guess theyre trying to guilt you into being okay with paying someone else's benefits. 😬 My longest travel day was probably 26 hours? maybe longer with the time to get to airports and on trains! LGA to SFO to ICN, then trains and subway down to Gwangju.
@grrrltraveler5 жыл бұрын
Are you still in Gwangju? That’s a city I’ve not actually been. Yeah I just researched it- employers have a employee healthcare mandate making it more expensive to run their business so many restaurants shift the costs to customers in an additional surcharge tax. Of course they request a tip but one of 17-20% vs 10-20%. Avoid SFO.
