I’m into my 4th turn of doing these videos .and I’m improving every time . Just gotta put the work in . I became fluent in Italian and that was a real journey and so many hours put in but if you have a passion for language you can do it. I don’t need to be fluent in Turkish my goal is to be able to speak to Turkish people in there own tongue when I’m on holiday . But probably at that point I’ll want to go further . That would take a few years . This isn’t a quick process you have to change your brain, that takes time .

For proper nouns (like your name), you don't actually need to write in in Turkish letters. But here is the correct version: "Şreya Verma" no need to add the Soft G "Ğ". But you can use "Shreya Verma" too in official documentation. Good luck with your Turkish learning adventure! If you have questions, feel free to comment them under the lesson video ;)

As a Turk and: Actually Turkic have 34 sounds. 29 of them in already here in turkish alphabet from 1928 to now. Other 5 sounds: Ñ(ڭ): it isnt in istanbul turkish thats why causes some confusion: Ñ or old naming Kâf-ı Türkî(كافِ تؤركى) sound have 3 function: 1)Makes definite noun phrase: kapı(n)ıñ kol-u, zıkkım-ıñ kök-ü etc. 2)indicate second person. Kalemiñi aldım=i take your pencil. Kalemini aldım=I take his/her pencil (turkish doesnt have artikel) Kalemiñizi aldım=I take yours pencil etc. This difference used to be in the text, but since it has been removed, there is an error in expression. Both letters n are written the same 3) it have in same nouns and verbs like añlamak, diñlemek, deñiz, deñk, tañrı, deñsiz, pıñar geñiş etc. X(خ):in istanbul turkish h(ه) znd hı(خ) sounds almost united. Very rarely it causes confusion an example:"Hayırda hayır vardır." First hayır is turkish and means "no" (خير) second is arabic (حير) means good/beneficial. Since hı and kha are pronounced with the same sound, the meaning of "There is good in saying no" turns into "no have no" Those who use the Islamic alphabet will understand better what I mean. W(ۋ) you can only see 3-5 words like avukat/davul/karpuz etc. it is vav sound that makes the lips oval. (Normally turkic languages didnt have v or w sound before islam it was b like eb(home) ab(hunted) etc. they becomes v after islam dint of arabs and iran Q(ق) thick version of k(ك). But in istanbul turkish it isnt have hard emphasis like arabs, it like between of qaf and kef but writes with "k" because of them some turks who do not know the difference read both letters in the same way. Please learn the difference, paper is kāğıt not qāğıt in pronouncation Hâkkari (حمارى)(city name in turkey) has kef not haQQari, my ears bleed when someone calls that city's name haQQari. An hint: Which k will appear in Turkish words depends on the thinness and thickness of the word. There is no q in words transferred from Persian to Turkish (except "kahraman" word it means hero). Ä(Turkish language have 2 different e sounds, e and ä(azeris and post-soviet turks write ə this) an example "erkek" two e in pronouncation different. There is no sure way to tell which e will come next, listen closely to how Turks use words. Despite all this The most correct oghuz turkish is Istanbul Turkish. If you pronounce Istanbul Turkish correctly, Turks in Anatolia, Azerbaijan and partly Turkmenistan will understand you. And it should also be noted that there are three types of Turkish in Turkey: Street Turkish, Republic Turkish and Ottoman Turkish. Turkish grammar is easy, learn vowel harmony, consonant harmony and vowel-consonant harmony thoroughly and memorize the suffixes. Since there is no prefix or consumable conjugation in the Turkish language, you should be familiar with the word roots and the meanings of the suffixes. You will understand most of the words. Street Turkish has around 300 words, you can learn it easily if you listen to Turkish people on the internet.

We Turks pronounce the word 'quit' as 'Kuğit'. Of course, it does not sound exactly like English. For this, we combine these three sounds: 'ku', then 'e', then 'ğit' and say them in one go. In other words, in the form of 'kueiğt'.
