Turkish Pide - Comment if you find the secret in the recipe 🧐 😉
Ingredients
For the dough:
-4 1/2 cups flour
-1/4 cup olive oil
-1/2 tbsp granulated sugar
-1/2 tbsp salt
-1 tbsp yeast
-1 1/2 cups of warm water (use controlled)
Tomato sauce
Beef bacon
Mozzarella and cheddar cheese
Parmesan
Fresh basil
For the top:
Butter
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, put the yeast and granulated sugar, add warm water, and activate for 10 minutes.
Then add flour, oil, salt, and water and knead the dough. You will get a soft dough in the end.
Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes. Remove the air from the dough (punch it :)) and knead it again. Do this procedure twice, half an hour apart.
Divide the ready dough into 6-8 parts. Ferment these parts for 10 minutes and roll them into an oval shape with a rolling pin.
Spread tomato sauce and put cheese varieties (including parmesan), and cover it in an airtight way.
Stretch the pide to the tray.
Heat the oven to broil and cook your pide on the top rack for 5 minutes first.
After that preheat the oven 400F.
Then put it on the bottom rack and cook for another 10 minutes.
Serve hot.
