You know I really gotta say, that whilst they may lack in some areas, the weapons that Turkey has produced in the last 10 years it has almost caught up with the US despite an embargo on everything from warheads to guidance systems to even the steel used to make certain critical components. To be able to do all this from scratch and be almost independant within 10 years has never been done before. another 10 years and dare I say that Turkey will surpass the USA in a lot of areas, they have already surpassed the US with their new infantry rifles and their latest torpedos not to mentioned their famous family of drones. Well done. Having said all this the US has bought the Turkish made missiles for their F35, as the Turkish missiles was specifically designed for the F35s

I was just thinking about this. US Americans' engine has a power of 3kN, ours has a power of 3.3kN. Their rovers are 4.27m tall, ours is 3.7m tall. The guys' flight distance is 1900km max. Ours is 250km max. Their warhead is 450kg, ours is 250km. CONCLUSION: I learned physics at school; "weight, strength and distance" are disproportionate in this case for Americans compared to that of Turks. Either they are telling lies, or we are understating.

SOM was choosen for F35 official missile, before Turkey let himself kicked out of the F35 productionline ( Turkey made it on purpose because he had the intel, F35 was nowhere near worthy of its price and had many many errors, although he was the biggest producer after america with over 2000 parts, including cruticial parts of engine.. and after Turkey got out, the price went even higher ) and SOM means Stand Off Missile.. so its a stand off missile

Turkey has an agreement that the distance of these missiles will not exceed 300 km, I think the distance has long been over 1000 km, but they cannot announce it.

@@gabriyo01 they are not exaggerating, the producer of this video neglected to mention that the AGM-158D (JASSM-XR) is 5,000 lbs vs the 2,000 lb JASSM and JASSM-ER. It also has a 2,000 lb warhead. So to be fair, it shouldn't have been compared. The LRASM would've been fair game though, since it's technically the AGM-158C. And there's no need for the US to boast. What Sun Tzu didn't anticipate is that sometimes you're too powerful to appear weak when you are strong. Those philosophies apply moreso to battle though. Because if you appear weak during peace, you are more likely to get invaded and thus dragged into an unnecessary war

The Turkish SOM is not even in the same category of the American AGM-158. The American cruise missile is more accurate, cuadruples the range, and doubles the warhead payload of the Turkish.
