"Turkey" ismi ayrıca Türklerin yaşadığı yer olarak Avrupalılar tarafından konulmuştur Türkiye Cumhuriyetinin kuruluşundan çok çok önceleri. Hindi ile tam alakası yok yani.

No its not the same. YÜZ(face) and surface(yüzey) yüzey is a word derived from another. So its has same root but those are not the same.

Some tips: Guys, remember that Turkish is a pro-dental language. So we dont actually roll out the letters in our mouths. For "rolling" i think she meants that we have some sounds like long a or smooth a whic you dont have to worry about it at all atm cuz its a little advanced pronunciation 2- Turkish is in Ural-Altai group not Indo-European like English. So it means that you have to use more words to express something but in Turkish, we're using less words or even same words to express the same thing. 3- I find this one a little strange or funny :) We the Turks in general are so shy or nervous when its come to speak English. I dont know why but we're too afraid to make a mistake or using wrong words or pronunciation, some of us may not speak at all because of it. But the funny or strange part is that we'd love to see foreigners to try to talk in Turkish and we find their mistakes cute, we laugh at it whit them etc. :) So in short: you dont have to be nervous about "if its the wrong word or if i'm making a mistake" just have a dictionary and try to talk whit anyone. 4- Please be aware that some will or may have try to teach you swearwords and they'll enjoy to see you swear to people unknowingly. I know you're smart but wanted to warn you anyway :) 5- I know some of us are swearing or using slang-language but we dont like that. You're trying to learn Turkish and believe me, its really a beautiful once you get the system. Trust me if you like anything about languages, you're gonna love it. Turkish has its own systematic and harmony to your ears if you use it properly. As an historian and semi-amateur philologist, thats what i love the most about it. I also love Farsi and French tho, i hope i'll get the time to perfect them :)

Just a minor correction. The animal Meleagris is native to the Americas. When the first settlers came, they thought the bird looked like a bird (culluk) from Turkey. Turks and French thought it came from India. The British thought it came from Turkey. On a different note, in Turkish, corn is called Misir, which also means Egypt. And pop corn is exploded Egypt.

yüz also means to skin something - like derisini yüzmek. abi means older brother, kardeş means little bro. you can call anyone this way depending on their age. kardeş is pronounced like "kardesh"

Yüz = Face Hundred Swim (''Yüz'' is like an order at this context like '' Hey you! Swim!'' but if you say ''Yüzmek'' it becomes swimming.) Peel ( For Example ''Koyunun derisini 'yüz'dük.'' means '' We peeled the skin of the sheep.'')
