In Greece we use three colours in surnames. We have Mr Krimizis: Mr Red, Mr Saris: Mr Yellow, Mr Sariyannidis: Mr Yellowjohnson, Mr Karas: Mr Black and Mr Karakostas: Mr Blackkostas🤣🤗❤️🇬🇷

In Turkic languages, "Karayanız / karayağız" (just like "karabeniz") means "brunette / swarthy" (not "black Yannis"), and "Sarıyanız / sarıyağız" (just like "sarıbeniz") means " yellow / fair-skinned / blond" (not "blond Yannis"). These words are used to describe people or animals. "Μπογιά" is also "boya" (paint, colour) in Turkic languages.

What's the difference between siyah and kara to say the color black? I heard "kara mamba" for the black shake called mamba or Kara Deniz for the Blak Sea.

Kara is synonymous with siyah. Kara sevda means blind love.
