Turmeric scientifically known as Curcuma longa - is a bright yellow spice used throughout Asia for centuries.
Grown for its root, turmeric has an ancient history of uses in cooking, fabric dyeing, cosmetics and especially as a traditional medicine in China and India.
Its use in conditions such as rheumatism, severe pain, fatigue, and breathing problems has been well documented for over “4,000 years”.
Curcumin is a pigment found in turmeric that not only gives it it’s characteristic bright yellow hue, but also has a range of health benefits.
These include antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects.
Because of these wide-ranging functions, turmeric has been studied in relation to arthritis, eye conditions, cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer’s disease and much more.

@@juliosdiy3206 you can, probably a smarter way than eating a kernel of it, likely would be harsh and it's easier to control precise dosing of BP crushed. You also gotta be a little careful with black pepper to not take too much because it's a stimulant. A small amount will do an 8th or 1/4 teaspoon, etc so not good at night. Fats also help absorbsion, and heat, like heating the tumeric in tea, etc

Turmeric, also known as turmeric or turmeric root, is a spice widely recognized for its potential health benefits. Here's a summary of its main benefits: Anti-inflammatory properties: Curcumin, the main active compound in turmeric, has strong anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce inflammation in the body and alleviate inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and inflammatory bowel diseases. Antioxidant: Turmeric is rich in antioxidants, which help neutralize free radicals and protect cells against oxidative damage, potentially reducing the risk of chronic diseases and premature aging. Brain health improvement: Studies suggest that curcumin may have neuroprotective effects and potentially reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, as well as improving mood and cognitive function. Promotion of heart health: Turmeric may help reduce risk factors associated with heart disease, such as high blood pressure, oxidized LDL cholesterol, and inflammation, which may contribute to cardiovascular health. Support for digestive health: Turmeric may promote digestive health by stimulating bile production by the liver and aiding in the digestion of fats. Additionally, its anti-inflammatory properties may help relieve symptoms of digestive disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome and inflammatory bowel disease. Potential anticancer effects: Some studies suggest that curcumin may have anticancer effects by inhibiting the growth and spread of cancer cells and helping prevent the development of certain types of cancer. While turmeric offers a range of health benefits, it's important to note that more research is needed to confirm and fully understand its effects. However, incorporating turmeric into your diet as a spice or supplement may be a simple way to potentially improve your overall health.

@@beyoncacheri9666 You're confusing Turmeric with its active ingredient Curcumin. To get the recommended dose of 1000 mg Curcumin, you need to consume 5 teaspoonfuls of Turmeric, which is a lot. To boost the body's absorption of Curcumin by a rate of roughly 10x, one should add a bit of black pepper to the Turmeric.

I seriously don't know how to distinguish curcumin & turmeric. Well, if I'm not wrong turmeric is the dried form of curcumin, I suppose. Also I believe that both of them are equally good for our health however may be raw turmeric i.e curcumin may've more potential values. Am'I right?🤔
@Oveneise

Turmeric is the root, curcuma longa. Curcumin is a compound found within that plant. Supplements containing curcumin are just extracted essence from the root - so it is more concentrated & potent. As CBD is a part of cannabis, or gingerol from ginger root, so is curcumin from the turmeric root.
