@@lilitousinezhad4756 well i think dipping any sort of liquid will ultimately alter the shadow. i’ve used setting spray a lot for when i used shadows as liners and it sort of left an off-colored spot wherever i’d dip into the shadows, along with altering the texture a bit. but if you stick the just using one spot the rest of she shadow can be used just fine :)

Story time: In the 70s my mom NEVER left the house without her “face”. This always included her winged liner (think Barbra Streisand) anyway. She did this with a deep brown shadow that she loved. I used to watch the ritual; turn in tap, douse brush, swipe and swoop. She used a very thin brush, with a pointed, paint-brush tip, not angled. So adept. She was the master of sheer foundation too…she used a natural porous 🧽 sea sponge (with holes) and FILLED it with water 💦 A squeeze and dap dots of foundation all over her face a then swipe the quite wet sea-sponge to even all over. She was GORGEOUS, always polished but you could see her skin thru a bit. She ALWAYS used a squirt of liquid blush on apples of the cheek, sheer, glory, dewy…it looked like gel sort of (I know, but I’m having fun rn remembering because I think I’m gonna go get everything Mom did) Never without lipstick, never…she always chose a nude, or blush nude, she would apply with a brush like a liner FROM the stick and blot, (like a stain I guess) reapply full, blot and go. I wish I could show you a pic…people stared at her….I would beam holding her hand. Her fits too. Not basic. Anyway, off to buy a Sea sponge, if I can find the little ones. 🥰😎 Oh once? We were uncharacteristically camping 🏕 hahaha and she held a mirror while on a log and wetted her eyeliner brush between her lips 😆 so spit works too 🥹😅

i can confirm that doing it micellar water stays just fine. just don’t mess with it till it’s dry and you’re likely going to use setting spray afterwards anyways and i’ve had it stay even without. edit: after finishing the video i feel like the micellar water looks a lot better than with the setting spray too despite that colour looking gorgeous on the palette

Oooh setting spray is a great tip. I’ve only used a single shadow like this and dump some of the pigment out and dip a wet brush into that. I was told using a wet brush in the eyeshadow container itself could encourage mold growth.

Use sterile eye drops (visine), keep with eye shadows. Add a few drops of visine and color in dry eye shadow deepens, can use a small brush to make eye shadow and a liner.

I've been doing this for like the last year! I do alternative/gothic makeup and it's great for the huge eyeliner I do to save on actual eyeliner, also you can get inexpensive or use eyeshadow that is not pigmented to do this if you were planning to not use that eyeshadow again, I just spritz some setting spray in the eyeshadow and turn it into a paste to use and it is a bit cheaper than buying a bunch of eyeliners!

I’ve used both micellar water and setting spray and I honestly prefer micellar, which stays just as well as the setting spray, because the setting spray always stains my eyeshadow palettes and makes the top layer unusable with a regular dry brush, so just be careful of what kind of setting spray you are using edit: micellar water does not have the same problem and leaves the palette clean and usable

Dony spray it directly to the brush so you're spraying everywhere and not getting the brush really soaked. Just spray some on the lid of the case or anywhere so you'd have a blob and dip the brush to wet it as you go

I used to use plain water in high school. in my rural home town, the far away hot topic was the only place that sold something colorful. I did some wild goth looks then, they stayed pretty well (though my skin looked crusty because I didn’t moisturize)

Setting spray can be a better option than micellar water, however I’ve personally found that water gives better coverage. Then you can simply use setting spray on top. I don’t know if the palette affects the consistency though.

She always has great information I love her she is the channel I go to to get recommendations on sunscreen and tinted moisturizers . Instead of spraying the spray onto the brush guys spray it into a small lid or cup so you can dip back into it without wasting your setting spray

I used to do this all the time. Eyeshadow as eyeliner is a good alternative if you don't like using eyeliner or you don't have one and wetting the brush makes application a lot easier

I dont know if any companies still do this but there was a trend like 10-15 years ago of eyeshadow pallets that were specifically made to be used like this. With water or setting spray.

You can actually just dip your color into the color you would like and spray your brush 1-3 times and it honestly works the same or even you can use some fixing spray to really make it pop! Honestly this way you don’t have dry spots on your pallet and you aren’t using as much spray!

I keep a plastic lid from an old bottle to spray my setting spray in to do this. That way it's contained and easily cleanable rather than dripping all over my counter/sink.

One time i used the setting spray insted the micellar water and when was time to remove it, didn’t come off… i used the morphe setting spray, so, it took a loooooong time to remove it. I prefer using micellar water.

Water : makes it pretty thin and runny also not that much color and clumps Micellaire water : more color less clumpy but still very thin and doesn’t stay well Setting spray : still a bit clumpy but stays on well and pretty color

Another tip, if you ever need to mix pigment or shadow and whatever liquid you're using PLEASE don't use the brush end to mix! Get a lil mixer or use the back of your brush and save those bristles ✊

Id recomend brushing some eyeshadow of on a plate and hitting that with the settingspray, and then use it as eyeliner. Getting settingspray in the pan will ruin it.

I have a technique for someone who's gonna try this with SPRAY type of setting spray. *Use the cap of the setting spray so that you can actually get the pigment of the eyeshadow. The cap will then be filled with liquid (the setting spray) you can now dip you brush then just tip it over so that it will not be super wet. This actually saves you from spraying all over again to the brush. Thank me later :)

only problem is that if you go a little too heavy handed you'll crust up the eyeshadow and you'll have to scrape off the bit where the setting spray was. happened to me
