@@pian816 if it was just the lights it has almost no effect on the electric bill. Leds consume so little power you save a fraction of a penny every hour a light bulb is off. Less then ten dollars over the entire year if it's a few lightbulbs.

Look, I'm not good at sorting wanted clothes, they lay in a pile until I force or coax myself to do something about it. I'm distractable. I often don't do chores bc I don't feel motivated. I don't have ADHD, at least most important issues don't match, I'm as normal as possible. I'm just shit at some things. Some people are great at some things. Even if it was a diagnosis which makes me about bad at this and that (and maybe there is one, I don't care), it wouldn't be a free ticket to being that without guilt. Like, it would be harder for me to turn the lights off, but I would have to be diligent and to do my best to do it. It isn't a cop out, a cheat which allows me to do whatever, it's a handicap. They were right to treat Vinnie well bc testing him bad wouldn't help, and would be inhumane. I don't know, maybe Vinnie tried, and of he didn't try, it would be worse.

I had a similar situation with one of my roommates, living in a shared apartment me + 3 roomies and this one guy just didn't get it. I have no idea if he was trying to *photosynthesis indoors* or if he was afraid of the dark or whatever but he _always_ left the lights on _everywhere_. After like a year me and other two roommates snapped and removed almost every light bulb in the apartment, leaving only the few necessary ones. It took him like two months to figure out our mischief (needless to say, this guy was also a bit dumdum)

I totally feel you Most of the time, my family members turn the lights off, but once in a while someone forgets to turn off the bathroom light (very rarely) and somehow it's always at the most inopportune moments and the feeling of just having to wait for a long-ass time while holding it in is worse than goddamn torture and the worst thing is that one of my family members actually has stomach-issues so they take a loooong time in the bathroom (even an hour or longer) so there's no way to know if they just forgot to turn the lights off or if they are still in there and of course i don't want to knock on the bathroom, that's just rude as fuck, but if i'm waiting for like 20 minutes i scout out the entire goddamn house and ask everyone for the current locations of other people and if they're all accounted for then i go ahead and knock that brings me to my question, why didn't you just scout out the apartment to try to find him when he's been there for like 20 minutes, ofc you would bring your friend with you to like so you're not just creeping around somebody else's apartment that way you don't need to knock so there's no way that you'll make anyone feel bad
