GGM awesome howto FAFOing .. you rock brother, just remember to remove the fans you don’t need to unscrew them just unscrew the fan plate the 4 outer screws and the second row data ports on the controller is for the KS3s hashboards.

Thanks for watching! The KS1 and the KS2 both use the same power supply, so it works perfectly just like a KS2 would from the factory :]

No, but it should work. The problem is you won't see 4 hashboards only 2. The hashrate should show up at the pool, but you won't be able to monitor 2 of your hashboards

Hey thanks for watching! Max temp is 70c. What I've noticed with the latest firmware is that the fans adjust to keep the boards very close to or exactly 60c. Optimum temp seems to be 60c!

At the moment, some KS0's just can't handle being overclocked. My first batch KS0 can only handle the 120gh overclock. 2nd batch KS0 handles 160gh no problem.

You can run 4 hashboards on a ks1 control board, they just won't show up in the webgui. The hashrate will show up at the pool

No you cannot. I am in direct contact with people who make these overclocks and work with devs etc. It is not safe to overclock the KS3M. The KS3M is basically an already overclocked KS3L.

I moved where the cable was connected to the control board (I mentioned it at one point in the video) and all 4 boards report normally. No it won't work with a KS3M

Power supply for both the KS1 and KS2 is exactly the same, 2000 watts. In my video, I show that my overclocked KS2 only pulls about 1550 watts. You can run all 4 boards with the KS1 control board and the full hashrate would show up at the pool. But only 2 boards would show up in the web GUI that way. I wanted to avoid all that, i wanted all 4 boards to show up in the web gui, so I bought a KS2 control board off Icerivers website. About $60 for the control board off Icerivers website plus whatever the cost of shipping would be to your country/location

Than you. Did you try uploading the KS2 firmware to the Ks1 controller after you added the hashing boards? It could work...and you may see the board on the GUI... Please test.

@spmadeez No need to test, I already know what will happen. Firmware update doesn't change every single file loaded onto the control board, it only updates a small portion of the files to make slight changes to how the ASIC behaves. If you want to do this with a KS1 board you totally can, like I said the hashrate that is expected will show up at the pool. But when you log into the web gui, you'll only see two boards.

@JK3Dprinting I had tried this before on my older 2 KS1's and it didn't work.... interesting. Maybe something has changed since then. What I've come to realize with Iceriver ASIC'S is that sometimes things just won't work on every model. I've had people in my Discord try the KS3L to KS3M stock control board swap and it didn't work. But a custom control board will etc... $60 plus shipping for a KS2 control board is worth it to me because I like to FAFO anyway lol

Yeah The free OC's don't seem to work for everyone because for the KS1 it's like a one size fits all kind of deal. Tswift has multiple overclocks for each model that usually end up working when the others don't. Tell him Greater Good Mining sent you!
