Interesting scene. Washington schools Tallmadge in the art of spycraft. One person's traitor is another's hero and vice versa. Explains the honourable death given to John Andre

Honorable? He got the death of murderers, traitors etc. firing squad, which he requested, was an honorable death

@@danielboggan2479 Well the nature of his death was not honorable but the Americans treated Andre with a lot more respect than the British treated Hale with. While they knew the results of Andre'situation the Americans still gave him the courtesy of a trial, whereas with Hale the British didn’t bother. So yes I would argue that Andre was treated with more respect than Hale was. Additionally both the British and the Americans admired John Andre and held him in high regard, whereas the British only saw Halle as a spy; as someone who despite his rank lacked honor.

The relationship between Washington and Tallmadge was one of the most interesting in the show. Tallmadge, smart and capable as he waa, still was young and hot-blooded, which Washington’s cool head refined through years of experience in strategic thinking did well to balance and temper. Interesting to see how he handled Tallmadge’s emotions over Hale’s death, which were also compounded by Nathaniel Sackett’s assassination. He didn’t outright equate the British to Hale, although he alluded to it when asking how they’d see Hale. But what he focused on in the end was shaping British perspective by not giving them to chance lionize the dead. He and Tallmadge wanted to the same thing: for them to be discredited, but Washington knew the better way to do it. He was teaching Tallmadge both tactics and perspective. What a mentor to have. It also would have added something to Andre’s execution and Tallmadge’s interactions with with him right before it. Considering Andre’s death somewhat similar to Nathaniel Hale’s, this would have seen a more explicit development of Tallmadege’s character through the show with the ending perhaps giving him closure over his death, which apparently haunted him through the show and Washington obviously could see it. They really should have kept this scene in the show.

"edited to run in the allotted time." There's almost an episode's worth each series. Not sure how so many of the deleted scenes have Tallmadge in them, though 😂

@@hermioneonice I noticed that too. They're mostly tall boi. It's a shame because I love his character. A lot of these deleted scenes seem important too.

Benny boy discrimination. It looks like the network was trying to cut back on character development in later series and focus on action/battle scenes. Not the direction I'd personally favor, but I wasn't consulted😂. Will Roger's epic fail trying to win back his Rangers was also cut, as was Brewster playing hide and seek with Thomas while on surveillance duties. There's also an extended version of the scene with loyalist Sarah where Ben lies to her about his bullet wound to gain her confidence. And while he's very far from John Andre levels of smooth talking, he's just as good at coming up with a convincing cover story under pressure. Job requirements for spying 101.

@@hermioneonice Ugh. Honestly, I don't know anyone who watches TURN for the battle scenes. I'd much rather have more time with Ben and Caleb.

They did a good job of accents in this. Everyone sounds English because everybody was.

Sorry but that is not correct. The modern English accent came later. They sounded much like we do today with variations based on geography and the locations people migrated from. The English of the time sounded more like we do in all likelihood
