My main thought during that run is that they should have been doing that for his entire tenure with the company. One of the most believable heels ever. That man is 6'4", 400+, can dunk a basketball at that height and weight and is legitimately one of the strongest men who have ever drawn breath ... and he's mad at you. Classic shit.

Let's be honest the only things Ahmed got right was that Steve stole his spot not by being racist but by working hard while he wasn't Austin just blew right past him . Ahmed was given the keys to the castle Vince was all in but he fumbled the bag and is now incredibly bitter

@@fjccommish Ahmed was there. Even the wrestlers that didn't like Ahmed all say that Ahmed was massively over and he really was back then. The question isn't if Ahmed thought he was over, it's the statements about Steve being racist that's the problem. Ahmed blamed everyone for his career faults except for himself. He was unsafe to work with and was injury prone along with having a horrible attitude. Ahmed ruined his career, not Steve Austin.

Ahmed was incredibly over . When he slammed Yoko in that wildcard survivors series match he was over like a million bucks . I loved Ahmed as a black kid. Bigger impact in my wrestling childhood fandom than Mark ever was .. only think I hated was his tights always up his ass. Lmfao

I met Ahmed Johnson in Pittsburgh at the airport. He was sitting by himself sleeping. My buddy ask me to go wake him up I’m like hell no. Lol. We both went over woke him up and asked for an autograph. He was very nice gave my buddy a program from raw the night before and signed it. I grabbed a napkin for him to sign. Talked to us for sec. I thought he was gonna be mad but no he was cool.

This story Mark told is mostly bullshit. Ron/Faarooq was never out for 9 months, and it was Ron who hurt Ahmed's kidney and put Ahmed out for months. This was Ron's WWF debut, so this whole revenge story is bullshit. I have no doubt Ahmed was difficult to work with since he was almost universally disliked by his peers, but Henry is straight up reversing roles here.

I heard a story once that Ahmed Johnson got booked on an Indy show and wound up no showing it because he asked the promoter for more money than the initial agreed upon amount, so the promoter started off the show by explaining why Ahmed wasn't going to be there and if anyone wants to vent their frustrations about it to call the following phone number....it was the phone number and extension for Ahmed Johsons hotel room.😂

Basically, Ahmed managed to piss off every Black wrestler in the WWF at the time; the Nation of Domination and Mark Henry. So, nobody had his back. Ahmed just didn't fit in at the company.

Just look at how many guys he injured, how careless he was in the ring, and how unreasonable he was backstage, and call it for what it is: he was a prima Donna who couldn’t work and who demanded to be treated like a superstar. When you can’t work, you’d better be on your best behavior and endear yourself to the boys who have to carry you every night.

Umm, yeah he was. 😂. Ahmed was very over. He got the Goldberg treatment. Matches were kept short to hide he couldn't wrestle. Was always put with workers who could carry him. You may not have liked him, but Ahmed had a rocket on him. He derailed his own flight trajectory.

I am just sitting here, thinking about what it would take for MARK HENRY to decide he needs to get the hell out of the way for ANYBODY. I am sure Mark can pick and choose his own battles, and I am sure he is not going to be steamrolled by too many guys. I am also sure he just used common sense, and said this is between Ahmed, and Ron, and I do not need to be involved. The funniest story is about him going to the gym. Ron would walk in to the gym in jeans and cowboy boots. Proceed to do a 400 lb bench with absolutely no warm up, comb his hair, and leave. As someone that struggles with 250, I couldn’t imagine just walking in like that.

Fun fact I saw mark Henry at a hole in the wall gentlemen’s club in Birmingham Alabama after he had knee surgery. Sitting by himself with no security. Not that he needed it. My brother asked was it him he said yeah motioned us over and we drank all night. So down to earth and so much fun to hang out with.
