Nice job Hugh! It's a tuff game to operate in today's environment with both the lower quantity and the lower quality of employees available.

Wow, congrats on this success in only your first year paving. It’s truly remarkable! If you don’t mind me asking, what square footage price range are you paving at? I’m in southern Ontario, Canada. You’d cripple at the prices some companies are doing work for. Anyways, I’m a new subscriber and absolutely loving your content. Just wish you’d film more in-depth on the paving side of things- but I can appreciate you including footage of all the different jobs you guys are mobilizing. I’m a business owner my self so I can 100% relate to your employee troubles… please get back to me about that question^^

We price per ton. So square feet converted to tons based on depth of asphalt

I have followed a lot of what you have done with my own business and the biggest thing I liked about what you did was when it was just you and Brian. I'm sure it wasn't super efficient and it got annoying not having more help that can run equipment or drive truck but I honestly think that's the way I want to keep it. I don't know if its possible or if I will go crazy but for now doing it myself and not having a full time helper seems to be working out and the headaches I have are my own and not from someone else. Any particular reason you moved away from that way of doing jobs? Other than money I'm assuming

Good question. I am never satisfied. I always want to succeed in a big way. I’d never be happy making enough to just make ends meet. I enjoy building my portfolio. This business is something I want to run on its own someday or have my children take over. Or sell if they’re not interested. I also have a marketing company and have been venturing into real estate.
